Chick-fil-LIARS: Chick-fil-A Still Supporting Bigotry

Last week Chick-fil-A announced that they would no longer donate money to groups fighting marriage equality. (I wrote about it here.)

Welp, turns out there’s a huge loophole in their new policy.

Rather than directly donate money to bigoted assholes itself, Chick-fil-A is asking supporters to bypass Chick-fil-A and send money to bigoted assholes in support of Chick-fil-A. If it sounds confusing, it’s not really.

See, Chick-fil-A is organizing a 200 mile bicycle race, 2012 WinShape Ride for the Family. The minimum fee for entering the race is a cool 3500 bucks. Chick-fil-A is asking entrants to send checks not to its own foundation, the WinShape Foundation, but to the Marriage and Family Foundation at 5200 Buffington Road in Atlanta, Georgia. And in case you’re wondering whether or not the Atlanta address for the Marriage and Family Foundation is the same address as the one listed Chick-fil-A headquarters, it totally is.

Children from broken homes face special stresses and challenges? Well, then, we’ll just make divorce illegal. Problem solved!

Yeah, I had a feeling CfA’s announcement was a figleaf. Thanks for following up on this.

On a similar note, a bunch of advertisers fled Rush Limbaugh after the Sandra Fluke thing. Have they all crept back to his program yet?

So, wait, there’s people who eat Chick-fil-A that can bike 200 miles? That would be news if it were true. I’ve never touched the stuff, even in college when I was still naive enough to put fast food in my body.

I kinda suspected that it would turn out to be something along those lines, which is why my target date for letting Chik-fil-A into my digestive tract again was the end of December.

Oh, well, Sonic Burger it is. I do love me some tater tots, so I’ll be still happy.

These people don’t have any understanding of morals or ethics.

They subscribe to things (not in the bible) that crazed religious fanatics say and imagine in their fevered minds that this is what morality is. It is not.

Lying and distorting the truth is immoral and wrong. If homosexuality was wrong, it wouldn’t be as wrong as lying is.

These Chi’ken magnates are lying rats, who (if their fantasy religion was real) would rot in hell forever for hating and lying. I can’t personally imagine anything more horrible than a Lord God willing to burn people in eternal fire for falling in love with the wrong person.

But these living monsters think that kind of “God” is a reality. How wrong!

Chick-fil-lay’s problem is this; if you are a franchise holder and the parent company does something stupid or crooked you can sue them for degrading the brand. I suspect this threat is what happened to them. This is their attempt to sweep it under the rug.
