… If you can believe NYMag:
With Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s political ambition comes a lot of carefully managed image-grooming… His embrace of the overshare generation continues today in the debut issue of Dujour magazine, via “Page Six,” in which he reveals his simple vice: “I had an ex-girlfriend who ruined me in terms of my macho, ex-football-player self — she turned me on to mani-pedis,” Booker said, deploying the shorthand himself. “Being a public figure, people talk smack about you, so I found this 24-hour mani-pedi place and go in the middle of the night. It’s this guilty pleasure I have. Look, manis are good, but pedis — there’s something … transformative.”

I’ll never understand why taking care of your feet is somehow effeminate… All you guys who think this is somehow wimpy or uncool are just tools. There’s a reason so many women flock to get manicures and pedicures- it feels good. Really good. I’ll take a good pedicure over a massage any day of the week.
Maybe you guys will get the chance to bond at the Charlotte convention, John.

TMI Cole. TMI.

Hey, y’know what just hit me? No, not Cole’s toe jam. This–it’s an election year, and so far, as far as I know, we haven’t heard from Ralph Nader yet. He only shows his face every four years and he’s due for an appearance.

Whew. Who knew?

All pedicures mean something. We act like they don’t, but they do, and that’s what’s so fucking cool about them.

As I mentioned one time before on this subject, being diabetic it is important to take care of your feet. A pedicure feels great after being on your feet all day at work, and if you find the right place to go, the warm water soak and massage does wonders to relieving aches and pains to the soles. And as a person who runs around in flip-flops during the off hours, it’s nice to have your nails cut evenly so I don’t look like Edward Scissortoes. Pedicures for men are not sissy things. As far as manicures go, I can take care of my own hands just fine, thank you. Manicures for men does venture into sissy territory.

I could care less about a pedicure but… I wear WesCo West Coast 16″ stacked heel loggers custom lasted to my feet. Good foot wear will do more for you cheaper in the long run than anything else.

Wait, what the hell is a pedicure? Fancy toenail trimming? I’m missing something.

@TenguPhule:
Sometimes I feel sorry for Team Romney [not very often]. They have tried to steer the conversation to the economy because unemployment is still high and a bunch of other unpleasant things. One thing and then another interrupts this effort. And then Akin pops up with this nonsense. I think Akin was trying to talk about abortion. But they can’t even talk about abortion now because everyone else wants to talk about rape. And the Republicans are in danger of being identified with rape. How’s that for a nightmare?
Of course, if the whole bunch weren’t such assholes . . . .

Anybody tried a fish pedicure? Sounds interesting.

I had a fish pedicure once. It definitely feels strange, especially at the beginning. Afterwards there was a really pleasant tingling in my lower legs and feet. I did mine in Bangkok, so kind of far away to make it a habit. There are lots of places there that do foot massage (without the fish.) I might try that next time I am there.

Maybe after the pedicures, they can save somebody from a burning building or be more powerful than a locomotive or something.
