Sweet sorrow and all that… but allow me dwell on happier sentiments.
I’d like to thank Doug once again for lending me the keys to this big, rumbling, cantankerous, and unstoppable truck of a blog. I’ve been a loyal Balloon Juice reader for at least four years now, so blogging hereabouts for the past two weeks is a real treat and honor. To use a well-worn cliché, if you’d told me when I first started blogging a little more than a year ago that I’d see my name up there with FEED, I would’ve been a very terrified happy recent grad.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without thanking the loyal commentariat and all ye insufficiently praised lurkers for reading (as well as subjecting me to a shockingly mild initiatory hazing). Readers here always provided additional insight and knowledge in the comments. To make a long pander short: I don’t care what John calls you guys on the weekends when he’s +3 or more — you’ve got a friend in me.
Anyway, if by any chance you enjoyed my writing, you can always catch me at my little nook (par example, I’ve got something up today about Mystery-Man Mitt and Vanishing Policy Platform). If you’d like to read my work but find my blog distinctly lacking libertarians to yell at through your keyboard, you can also catch me at The League.
Lastly, because we as a species tend to like symmetry, I’ll conclude as I started:

Dog pics go along way with this crowd, Elias.

Don’t be stranger, Elias. It’s been a slice.

I “probably” think it’s too bad you won’t post here.

I like to catch Elias’ thoughts over at the League, even though when commenting i have to refrain from using the word “fuck” as often as I would like to.

Hazing? Did JSF slip you the shrooms as John feared?
Boudica
@raven: You get older, but the girls always stay the same age?

It was nice having you here, Elias Isquith! Come and visit us again.
TaMara (BHF)
Come again soon!

@Boudica: Oh god it’s awful. They do this rush shit next week and the town is up for grabs. Now they are young enough to be my niece’s kids!
Actually football games are worse. If I ever regret not having kids seeing the latest slut-wear at games solves that.

Wow! Calamity Jane’s twin brother lives at my house. His name is Slammer.
WaterGirl
@MikeJ: And MikeJ is concluding this just as it started, too.

Thanks for filling in. Love the pets!

Nice having you post here, even if I am old enough to think the young girls dress like strippers.
Just Some Fuckhead
@BillinGlendaleCA: Meh, I can’t keep track of the frontpagers anymore. There are so many of them now they should just change the frontpager list to “Everyone But You, Sucker.”

@Maude:
Does it matter? After my daughter’s graduation in June I saw a lot of her female classmates in dresses with less depth than some belts I’ve owned and wearing platform shoes with five inch spike heels. Dirty old man that I am, I thought “do all those parents glowing with pride know those shoes are called ‘come-fuck-me shoes’?
I was informed of this by a female acquaintance, describing her daughter and her sorority sisters going to party “wearing their CFM shoes”. Of course I had to ask what are CFM shoes, at which point all the women present looked at me with varying degrees of pity for male ignorance.
