Okay, tonight’s meet-up will be at Triple Rock at 7. Somebody try to bring a balloon to make us noticeable, I’m not sure I’ll be able to.
I’ll have on light brown pants, an orangish shirt, and a light blue sports coat. I look a bit like Patrick Kennedy.
Roger Moore
Even better, bring a bunch of green balloons.
James K. Polk, Esq.
BJ at Triple Rock, eh?
Make sure you hit up the Cheeseboard (Best. Pizza. Ever.) down the street beforehand!
Today’s ‘za = Crimini mushrooms, Onions, Mozzarella and French Goat cheese, Fresh herbs, Garlic olive oil.
Better than it sounds too. Open till 8pm, or till sold out.
shortstop
I’m not seein’ the Patrick Kennedy thing from the photos. Someone who attends tonight can report on whether it’s more noticeable in person.
kindness
What, no stand up poster board Tunch, Lilly, Rosie &/or Max? C’mon Juicers….you’re better than that. Me? I’m not better than that. I’ll be lucky to make it.
jibeaux
Huh, I never knew Patrick Kennedy was color blind.
Punchy
What’s Sully going to be wearing?
Valdivia
Sounds fun, have a good time BJ crew!
The Moar You Know
Dammit, I was just up there last week. You’ve got a shitty sense of scheduling, Doug.
Somebody send you or Cole to San Diego, for Chrissakes.
Yutsano
@The Moar You Know: To be fair, SoonerGrunt was in town for ComicCon.
schrodinger's cat
DougJ@top
Who is Patrick Kennedy?
Linen or seersucker?
SatanicPanic
@Yutsano: You guys are both from SD? Should do a meetup. Or we can do a San Diego meetup- schedule a time and place, and then all flake out. Maybe we can convince Doug and Cole to not show up too.
Eljai
I’ll be there. Like here, I will lurk in the background and comment sporadically.
Yutsano
@SatanicPanic: I’m in Seattle. But SD is always a very tempting 2 1/2 hour plane ride away. Although I can’t afford that right now.
Tom Levenson
Boy, is this old home week. Been hitting Triple Rock since the ’80s. Regrets that I can’t be there; I’m about 2800 miles geographically challenged as I write this.
DougJ
@schrodinger’s cat:
Cotton
SatanicPanic
@Yutsano: Haha, I was gonna visit Washington this summer… but now I can’t afford it.
Yutsano
@SatanicPanic: Normally I’d say come on up, but apparently our “summer” is still rebooting. It MIGHT hit 73 today.
jl
I would come but I have a cold, and don’t want to endanger the health of Balloon Juicers.
Edit: I hope everyone has a good time. And no one slip anything into DougJ’s drink. He is a delicate flower, not up to SF Bay area recreational substances!
Cassidy
Sounds like you’re dressed as UF or Auburn Alum or someone who needs more coordinating lessons from his SO.
Mark
Sorry, I don’t go to the East Bay. See you next trip!
El Cruzado
Dammit where’s the love for the South Bay?
trollhattan
@kindness:
Why not Tunch “Feed” aprons all around? Whoever is buying gets the “Obey” apron.
jl
I did not give much notice to DougJ’s style choices for the meet up.
What if the local numbers racket bagman is there? Might be dressed the same.
Lizzy L
Can’t make it tonight — sad. Have a great party!
pacem appellant
@El Cruzado: That’s what I’m saying. By the time I get the kids to sleep, it’s be after 8pm, and there’s no way I’m driving 880 there and back. I would love to go though. Triple Rock is one of my favorite brew pubs. Get the nachos! Sooo yummy. And check out the rooftop garden weather permitting.
Mountain View, Sunnyvale, San Jose, heck, I’d even go to Palo Alto. South Bay needs some love, too!
Quicksand
Shoot, I was planning to come but my wife requested this night to go out — and she needs a night off.
Have fun everyone, catch you next time around. Preferably in the 650.
pragmatism
blondies or fat slice?
kindness
@pragmatism: 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
Does Triple Rock allow you to bring in food from off the street? It’s been so long I can’t say what policy is now. If so, we could order one of the FSM blessed better pies & bring it in.
moops
A pizza day at Cheesboard that doesn’t have potato. hurray. I’m so tired of this trendy ingredient choice. Nice to see a mostly traditional pizza offering this time. They are the best in the bay area when they decide to make actual pizza. They can be forgiven their urge to use fancier cheeses :-)
From my recollection they do not have an explicit policy about outside food, but they do have a kitchen and menu. Most places with a menu are not open to outside food. Their food is mostly bar fare. Good by bar standards, but poor by Gourmet Ghetto standards.
hopefully the tv will be tuned to Olympics. classy.
