Picture of Max.
Not much to say about the mechanics of this pic. It illustrates what I said before about holding the camera low; in this case I held it real low, almost touching the ground, and used the GH2’s fold-out LCD to compose.
I got close to the dog with my 20mm lensCorrection: I used my manual 50mm lens and focused by hand on Max’s eye. The aperture was fairly wide to blur background and I just snapped away until I got a few that I like. The most important part was keeping an eye on the light to find a moment when Max flopped down on a spot on the grass lit softly by late-day light, then I circled around to get a perspective with the light coming from off to one side to emphasize Max’s dimensionality.
Chat about whatever.
