I found Depot, or I should say, she found me in the Brooklyn Home Depot in the garden section. Here comes this cute 6 month old pregnant kitten rubbing on my legs….she knew I was a sucker. After finding out that the HD didnt want her or care for her I scooped her up and brought her home.
We have tried everything to integrate her into our family. We have 2 cats and a dog. She doesnt mind the dog… but every chance she got she would go after my 11-year-old cat. I have come to feel she doesn’t like cats and wants to be the only cat. We tried everything!
So she started living with my boyfriend’s mom, who lives upstairs from us. We would visit with her often and I took care of her litter and food. But Joe’s mom took a fall in March and is in a slow decline. She will not be moving back into the building…
Depot, who loves people, is lonely. This breaks my heart. She is a tomboy — LOVES to play, LOVES to be brushed and pet. Not a real lap cat, but would love to sleep with you. She is very funny, talks a lot, and has a great personality — except the cat thing.
She is spayed, all shots, and is in perfect health (except a few extra lbs, she loves food too).
If anyone knows of a home with no other cats, please contact us. As of Aug 1, Joe’s mom’s apt will be rented to someone else, someone who cannot take her.
Looks like Tunch’s long-lost little sister, doesn’t she? If you are interested in Depot, or know someone who might be, contact me at AnneLaurie @ verizon . net (click on my name, to the right) and I’ll put you in touch with Depot’s foster-person.

may i suggest that the photos of this cat be hipstered up by approximately 72% to encourage a hipster adoption in BKLN? maybe some creative facial hair? knit beanie in the middle of summer? possibly ironic tatoos?

My favorite cat was born in a Lowes garden center. I guess garden center cats are a thing now.

@pragmatism: Here, I sorta fake instagramed it.

Man, you can tell she’s a sweetheart just looking at her.

@MikeJ: nice! thx.

I wish I didn’t already have a cat (who is mean and who would certainly fight with Depot like
cats and dogscats and cats) because she sounds perfect.Southern Beale
My niece lives in NYC so I’ve passed this info on to her, perhaps she knows someone or someone she knows knows of someone. Depot looks so much like the two kitties who adopted us … one of whom we sent to my niece in New York because the poor kitty was terrorized by one of our cats. It’s just too weird.
Good luck, hoping Depot finds a family!

If I thought my 2 gray girls and Depot would honour a kitty version of mutually assured destruction as a deterrent, I would love to have a trio of kitties. But I fear one of them might launch an attack, with the expected result of immediate, irreversible escalation of hostilities and then… Depot really is lovely, sigh.

Except she’s missing the “s” in her name.
Hope she finds a good home soon!

My mom rescues feral cats in Harlem and works with the SPCA and a few other cat organizations. Maybe she has an idea (she already has 5 kitties and fosters kittens for a kitten rescue)…..My sis has found kitties at Ikea. I think one lives in her store ;) I will share on FB.
Mireille
Will email you tomorrow re. contacts for adoption at ASPCA, KittyKind and others. My name is Mireille. I rescue kitties in Harlem … have full house at the moment, some 10 of them …. only five are mine.
We’ll find a way to give a good home to Depot.
Night.
