What are we all into tonight? I’m watching some West Wing and trying to forget the CPAC rap.
I’m still crushing on Donna, and definitely think I need a Donatella Moss in my life, but CJ just rocks. I like how both of them give people a lot of shit.

I’m going to watch Conan the Barbarian, the new CGI version, and if that sucks I got Crank backed up just in case.(That’s the the movie with Jason Statham not the stuff cooked by Walter White)

I have something to talk about.. The republicans have written a new transportation bill and it is a disaster. They are trying to kill mass transport.
Read about it here
Money quote:
not content with that they are also going after cyclists as well.
here
So now all the cyclists groups are going after the bill. It’s really a horrible bill. It’s time to do a SOPA and start mounting a defense. Kill the bill!
and while you’re at it, they are also attacking cyclists as well.
Cain
@Mr Stagger Lee:
Conan was alright, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t particularly bad either.

After watching 20 seconds of that CPAC rap, it’s a tossup between serious alcohol abuse and plunging an icepick into my eyes and ears.

West Wing got me through the Bush years.
All is calm in Houston. Our wingers are at CPAC, the rest of us are changing the locks and getting drunk.

“We are not hated because we practice democracy, value freedom, or uphold human rights. We are hated because our government denies these things to people in Third World countries whose resources are coveted by our multinational corporations. That hatred we have sown has come back to haunt us in the form of terrorism. Instead of sending our sons and daughters around the world to kill Arabs so we can have the oil under their sand, we should send them to rebuild their infrastructure, supply clean water, and feed starving children. In short we should do good instead of evil. Who would try to stop us? Who would hate us? Who would want to bomb us? That is the truth the American people need to hear.”
Former US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Robert Bowman, in Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States”.

BJ Fitness Club….which one of you guys is gonna run it?

Colbert and Maurice Sendak is worth a watch if anyone is looking for a little restored faith in humanity.

@DanielX: I recommend the serious alcohol abuse. As bad as the hangover is, it is still no comparison to the hangover you’d get from plunging an icepick into your ears and eyes.
Villago Delenda Est
Agree that Donatella is wonderful, but C.J…..whoa, she’s just more attractive to me. Both snark, but C.J.’s is edgier than Donna’s. Which I find most alluring.
cathyx
@scav: Is Maurice Sendak old? I actually thought he was dead.
jl
@Cassidy:
” BJ Fitness Club….which one of you guys is gonna run it? ”
But, BJ already has the cooking and food posts, right? And Cole’s incomprehensible gobbledygook about computer games.
I think that is about as “Fitness Club” as BJ is gonna get.
Which reminds me, I got a snickerdoodle to finish here.
paramedicx
Trying to figure out why they let ‘Drive’ end that way…

Villago Delenda Est
Follow up, in a new post, since FYWP won’t let me add to my last…
C.J. reminds me a bit of Kira Nerys of DS9. Both are of course gorgeous and intelligent, but both characters have that snark edge to them, and a certain strength under their lovely exteriors.
I get the feeling that both would be more than adequate watching your back in a serious dustup.

@Cassidy: I have to admit, fitness posts would be ‘interesting’ to try on Balloon Juice. Wonder if Cole would put up such a thing. I would expect lots of heckling in the comments, but maybe not.
However, I did suggest that Cole join in with his dad if there is an Rx for rehab. I would gladly suggest many walking blues for Cole’s listening pleasure.
Maybe we could have a few posts on good rails to trails the commentariate knows about around the country. Cole might put up with that, since he does the dog walk thang on them.

I’m 50 in SWTOR, and unfortunately, I think things really slow down at that point. I’m in an active guild and theoretically should be able to run a bunch of flashpoints, but that’d involve a lot of switching back and forth between my healing spec and my DPS spec (for dailies). Right about here, I wish they implemented dual specs like in WoW.
So…pleh. Dailies tonight. I suppose the correct answer is to start a new character, but I feel like I just want to do my chores, then play something else. Like Dungeon Defenders. I want to get back into that.

@jl: I just figure that there are a lot of people here who want to be more fit and people who are more fit who can offer guidance and advice in a less intimidating environment than a gym. Honestly, if I were running it, I’d put up an open thread once a week and ask that whoever wants to participate post a comment on what they did for the week. Do they have to “do chores” in WoW?
Leveling is a seemingly endless series of chores (go pick up bundles of wood from around the area, please…and watch out for the wolves and bears!) then once you hit the level cap, it’s all do your dailies for gold (would you mind jumping into the canal and grabbing some canal crabs for the King’s dinner, hero?).
Sentient Puddle
@jl: By chores, I mean those daily quests. The same set of things you do every day to grind out enough cash/commendations to further advance your character. And because it’s the same thing every day, it gets rather old rather fast.

Is there anything more pathetic than a sniffle-boo Joan Walsh
All this stupid dipshit has said all through this contraception thing is “shame on liberal Catholics for defending the Church”
liberals such as CHRIS MATTHEWS and that French sounding foo foo from the Washington Post who backs up David Brooks on the Fascist Minute on NPR
GUESS WHAT YOU STUPID SHITPILE JOAN WALSH, CATHOLICS DON’T THINK OBAMA SHOULD LISTEN TO THE CHURCH
But rich worthless shits like Joan Walsh define themselves by pretending to be the only Catholics who matter so clearly all those plebe prole Catholics are all hypocrites and just up the bishops’ asses on contraception because otherwise Joan Walsh wouldn’t be THE SPECIAL ENLIGHTENED CATHOLIC
Except Catholics who aren’t celebrities she jacks off under the table – hey! they ALREADY “agree” with her. They simply have the temerity to exist and vote, which Walsh doesn’t believe they do. And yet of course to Joan Walsh, they both don’t exist and must be shamed, I guess for not being Joan Walsh and having a column to whine about it

1: Determine how much chum you need. For a one-day trip, you might need as much as five 5-gallon buckets of chum.
2: Determine how much fish you need. One hundred pounds of fish produces about 15 gallons of ground-up chum.
3: Get the fish. Whether you are buying or catching the fish, you will need a lot of it. Use small fish like herring and mackerel.
4: Grind it up. With your electric grinder, grind up the whole fish into a bucket. Leave about an inch of space at the top of each bucket for freezing. Place the lid on tightly.
