Like The Bankrupt Space On Wheel Of Fortune

You know the right wing is painfully desperate and terrified right now when they play the ACORN card on Occupy Wall Street.  Steve Benen:

About a year ago, there was an unintentionally amusing survey from Public Policy Polling that found 23% of Republicans nationwide feared ACORN may help Democrats steal the election.

ACORN, of course, permanently closed its doors in March 2010, six months before the poll was taken. Groups can’t steal elections if they don’t exist.

Here we are now, more than a year and a half later, and ACORN is but a memory. But Fox News would have its audience believe the non-existent group is still up to no good. Today’s Fox News headline reads: “EXCLUSIVE: ACORN Playing Behind Scenes Role in ‘Occupy’ Movement.”

I hereby propose Zandar’s Law:  whenever the right pulls out ACORN to try to discredit anything, they have automatically lost the argument.  It’s literally all they’ve got left at this point, after calling OWS supporters racists, bigots, anti-semites, soshulists, parasites, anarchists, criminals, mobsters, thugs, terrorist sympathizers, potheads, Soros puppets and welfare queens for the last month and some change and Americans still support the movement, we’ve finally arrived at minions of Sauron ACORN.

Awesome.  You lose, Entire Right Wing Full Of Douchebags.  Good day.

I hereby propose Roger’s law: the right has already lost every argument on its merits; the rest is just table pounding.

You wanna see something REALLY scary?

In general, do you think the policies of the Republicans in Congress favor the rich, favor the middle class, favor the poor, or do they treat all groups equally?”

Appearently the Oakland PD hurt an Iraq Wat Vet who is in serious condition with a head injury. Great. I would love to know why the fuck police in riot gear need to show up and confront people who are not armed but fucking teabaggers can be strapped to the eyeteeth and the cops do nothing at all.

This morning on WSB (Atlanta’s ABC affiliate and also the same call letters are attached to AM and FM conservative radio stations) they had the local tea party whining that they’re gonna sue the city because OWS is getting special treatment they didn’t get. The reporter did ask if the TP had asked for overnight permits in the park and the spokesnitwit said no. But if they ever do want that permit they better get it on the exact same terms OWS got or else. Gack.

I really hope this vet is going to be ok. According to KTLK in LA he’s not sure who he is or how he ended up in the hospital. Fuck.

Nay, nay. For ACORN is like a slime mold, except it is made of BRAIN EATING ZOMBIE amoebas, instead of ordinary cute slime mold amoebas.

Sure, it looked like it died, but it merely transformed itself to googletrillions of tiny spores floating invisibly through the air, that then burrowed into the ground, and even as I type, is silently moving as a mysteriously, magically, supernaturally, coordinated invisible mass underground.

There is no telling where it will gather next before the 2012 election, to suddenly erupt into BRAIN EATING ZOMBIES, who will turn helpless, unaware, innocent real Americans heroically producing American wealth, into DemocRATic voters.

I’ll check the intertubes for the FOX clip for that piece. It will be so cool. I hope they use clips from the original Night of the Living Dead pic, since that was the scariest, IMHO.

You left out communists! Some douchebag on some MSNBC show today (didn’t catch who) was going on about how he didn’t sympathize with the soshulists, the communists, or the anarchists who were a big part of OWS, but there were some real hardworking people with real concerns, and those people he sympathized with.

That’s easy. Unarmed peolpe can’t fire back. the Teabaggers had the police out-gunned.

Because teabaggers don’t threaten the social order. OWS does.

Since ACORN is literally equivalent to Jesus or Reagan to us atheist-folk (entity that exists strictly in a historical context), we should be able to rewrite these headlines and not change the meaning:

EXCLUSIVE: Jesus Playing Behind Scenes Role in ‘Occupy’ Movement.

    Dave says:

Unfortunately this a little misleading. the Fox article actually says an organization called NYCC is behind it, and they employed 100’s of former ACORN people. In any case, hopefully legitimate investigative journalism will shed more light on that in the coming days.

By terrified you mean laughing hard at how comical this stupid movement is? Come on you nutjobs- you brought in a group that got caught giving advice on how to run underage prostitution rings to help you organize? Seriously?

What was the point of tying ACORN into this? It couldn’t be to fill the average American with fear, because most average Americans don’t know/care much about ACORN. It must be to dog whistle the averager FOXer. But to what point? They already hate OWS. Let’s face it–Fox ain’t all that crafty, there’s mostly just insular, paranoid, and dumb.

Wow, nice come backs- personal attacks and dismissal. That probably counts as educated thinking on this sort of blog.

Really though, if you want to avoid the charge of being an ‘astroturf’ protest, you can’t bring in paid people and employ groups accused of fraud to help you out. It’s got to be grassroots, ground-up, authentic or else it isn’t going to catch on.

    Just trying to help.
