Careful, Ben, you’re in Joe Namath territory for most overrated NFL player ever.
I used to work with a guy back in the early-mid 90s who would tell me straight faced Namath was the greatest quarterback he ever saw. Mind you, this was when Elway, Kelly and Marino were in their prime and Montana was still slinging it. I thought dude was off his meds but since Namath was before my time I really had nothing to go on to refute him since I never saw him play. All I know is he won one Superbowl for a NY team so everybody just had to know about him.
That little cubby hole down in FL, is the hardest place in the country to play on the road
Are all SEC people this delusional? The O Dome? Puh-leeeeeze. If you want to see the best home-court advantage in college basketball, tune in to ESPN at 9:00 Wednesday.
I was at the St. John’s game. Stuff happens. Irving got his cast off on Friday. If he makes it back in time for the NCAA tournament, just mail us the trophy. We may still win it without him, but with him, our biggest foe is complacency.
And that’s all you need to know. Namath accomplished virtually nothing in football other than that game, and even then he was almost completely irrelevant to the outcome. For those who remember, like me (Christ, I’m getting old), Namath’s contribution was primarily watching from the sidelines as the Colts blew scoring chance after scoring chance. The rest of his career was marked by grotesque hype, underachievement, and horrific acting that would have embarrassed O.J. Simpson.

That little cubby hole down in FL, is the hardest place in the country to play on the road, and yet, UK lost by only two.
Unlike the 15 point drubbing the Ducks got from St fucking Johns

I used to work with a guy back in the early-mid 90s who would tell me straight faced Namath was the greatest quarterback he ever saw. Mind you, this was when Elway, Kelly and Marino were in their prime and Montana was still slinging it. I thought dude was off his meds but since Namath was before my time I really had nothing to go on to refute him since I never saw him play. All I know is he won one Superbowl for a NY team so everybody just had to know about him.

@handy:
Simpson.

@Shoemaker-Levy 9:
Agreed, Joe Namath was incredibly overrated as an NFL player, but don’t diss his acting career. CC and Company is an all-time classic!
