Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller announced late Sunday that he would continue his challenge in federal court of the write-in election of rival Sen. Lisa Murkowski but added he would not oppose certification of Murkowski’s victory by state election officials.
If you let certification go forward, Joe, it’s over. Just try to do one thing this campaign gracefully, you putz.

That headline would make a very spiffy revolving tagline.

too funny indeed. The level of self-parody displayed by this pathetic little bully’s refusal to accept reality is truly wondrous to behold.

I still think he’s trying to convince America to repeal the 17th Amendment by making the country go “You know what? Screw voting for Senators. I don’t want another Joe Miller incident.”

I get the feeling that Miller is just a teensy bit… unbalanced. Kind of guy who’s always right, in his own opinion, although he may make ‘errors of judgment’ every once in a while. Would have been right at home in the Senate.

Wait a minute. He’s fighting the election results, but not fighting the election results?
About on par for teatards, I guess.

he knows he lost the election, but he’ll fight on …. BECAUSE THERE’S MONEY TO BE MADE off the suckers that “support him”… they will literally be supporting him until he gets his next paying gig. Miller is just doing exactly what the lefties want Obama to do.
Endlessly fight battles that you cannot win to show that you are “tough” or “man-up”.
If Obama had not compromised on the tax cuts, all our taxes would have gone up, he would have been hated by Independents, but the FDL & DK crowd would have cheered because the progressive platform would not have been compromised.

Give the poor, oppressed white guy a break. He’s serially unemployed. What the hell else is he gonna do? Get a real job? Become a producer instead of a wholesale moocher? Get a Fox News gig? Evidently even that offer of gainful employment has been deprived of poor Joe.

Most of the time I agree with you John. But in this instance, I do see Joe Miller being graceful by stepping aside and allowing certification to proceed.
But….there is an issue with how ballots are counted in Alaska and the disparity deserves to be heard in court.
Warning, as a network engineer and computer systems analyst for 3 decades, I stand vehemently behind Brad Friedman and absolutely abhor electronically counted election ballots.
That being said, Alaska refuses to hand count absentee ballots, relying instead upon proven inaccurate scanning technology and I fully support Joe Miller raising this question in a court of law.
I think he’d make a lousy senator, know for a fact he can’t win, don’t really like him as a human being either. But electronic ballot counting is a recipe for authoritarian dictatorship.
cathyx
What he’s doing sure beats getting a real job if he can continue to live off the donations. How many hours of work does he have to put in to wait for a court hearing, versus working practicing law?

Remember that tank war that was the biggest in the history of the world, that one that we were reportedly going to get waxed. Well Joe, the Talented kid from a modest Kansas background, led a tank platoon in that one and was awarded a Bronze Star for being ‘a true warrior leader tested under fire.’
Now, consider Joe Biden’s lawyer-kid and Al Gore. Both rich kids whose daddies used Wealth and Birth to get them into the rear echelons in order for photographs to be taken of them. Bo daringly writes restrictive rules of engagement for Sarah’s son and Al wrote articles for a magazine.
Thus we witness the essential differences between the Teabagger versus other segments of American society. In this example, we also note the primary goal of the Legacy Scholarship-Affirmative Action Scholarship privileges system. This goal of this privileges system is to prevent Talent, embodied by Bill Clinton and Joe Miller, from completing with entrenched Wealth and Birth. Read Thomas Jefferson on this very subject.
The principle difference between Bill and Joe is that Joe also enjoys the gift of Virtue. Joe really is not a putz.

@Xboxershorts: Perhaps, after he’s a certified also-ran, he should take up a class-action against Diebold (love the name) and the rest of the EVM manufacturers.
‘Cause, ya know, paper ballots are just too hard, what with the dangling chads and all. (Although, admittedly, this problem with our punchcards only appeared in the 2000 Bush v. Gore, so it may well be a recent failure of our national punchcard industries.)
Ole Joe should investigate, in any case.

I was reading a real paper copy of Mother Jones in someone’s bathroom, recently, and read a fascinating article about one of the Tea Party “founders”, who was also the founder of Herbalife. The article compared the Herbalife corporate structure with some of the tea party structures and found them to be very similar. I forgot the names of the people involved, but there are many ex- Herbalifer’s working for Tea Party groups right now, employing the same business model. Which is:
You pay me for some fabulous secrets, allowing you the FREEDOM to work from home. Good luck!
And that’s what these teatards are: the same people who get taken advantage of by Herbalife and all the other fly by night, work at home, make a quick buck type frauds.

Some people might say that was the First World War, in which the Earth became so choked with corpses that the surviving members of the human race were subsequently decimated by an influenza epidemic.
But if we apply Logic and Liberal Science, it becomes clear that the week in February 1991 during which Joe Miller ran over some camels in a tank is more deserving of the title “The War to End All Wars”. Those camels are wily foes, indeed.

George is the consequence of, and beholden to, Wealth kdaug. I hate to break this to you but it is my judgment that George is not that sharp. This is in contrast with Bill Clinton and Joe Miller.
Bill, lacking Virtue, used his Talent to enrich himself to the tune of nine figures. He even got Chelsea married off to a Goldman Sachs banker! Hard to imagine that!
Joe and the people like him, on the other hand, keep the Power Structure up at night for the reasons outlined in Jefferson’s paper above.

Color me unimpressed with Joey Miller’s war record. The Iraqi Army was incredibly outmatched by the US. Not only were American tankers better trained, having spent the last few decades training to go up against the Soviet Union, but they also had better equipment. The M-1 is a superior tank to anything the Iraqis had (Even the M60A3 is better than anything the Iraqis had). American armor units were taking out Iraqi armor units from distances of 3,000 meters in the middle of the night.
Of course Joey Miller then went and wimped out on his service commitment of serving eight years on active duty in return for being educated at West Point and transferred to the reserves. Now, since we’re all about disclosure here I’d like to see Joey’s 201 jacket and his Leave and Earning Statements to see if he actually did that reserve time or if he flaked out.

Joe lives for the day when Murkowski is dragged — kicking and screaming — off the floor of the Senate and he makes a triumphant entry, passing her in the aisles. The chamber will be silent, except for Lisa’s pathetic cries as other Senators acknowledge Miller’s awesomeness. Once again the Supreme Court has acted to install the rightful winner of an election he lost.

@Wile E. Quixote: I thought the military academies only required 5 years of active service. I’d give up 5 years of my life in exchange for the college education, but not so sure I’d do 8. I’ll have to look this up. I had thought that it was eight years of active duty. But even eight years isn’t too bad. Yes, you’re spending eight years in the military, but on the other hand as an O1 through O3, which is where you’re going to be for the first eight years of commissioned service your salary and benefits are as good as what you’re going to find in most civilian jobs.

Maybe Stalwart Joe can rent an office somewhere in Anchorage (I’m sure there’s some space left over from the Palin For President Committee) and set himself up as the “real” Junior Senator from Alaska. It can double as the local HQ for the Tea Party: and Miller can rake in a bundle from the rubes to offset his “Senatorial” expenses…

Except at most civilian jobs you don’t have to get deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan 4 times in that eight years-or take a significant risk of being killed or injured.
