Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

Naturally gregarious and alpha

Saul Alinsky is my co-pilot

Technically true, but collectively nonsense.

We can agree to disagree, but I’m right.

I thought we were promised Infrastructure Week

I showered with Rahm and all I got was this shitty blog.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

And we’re all out of bubblegum.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity.

A snarling mass of vitriolic vicious jackals

This is a big f—–g deal.

Consistently wrong since 2002

This Blog Goes to 11…

Word salad with all caps

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

An army of rabid, anonymous commenters

Gastritis Broke My Calculator

Also, too.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

The revolution will be supervised.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

We still have time to mess this up!

Lighten up, Francis.

Your correspondent stayed moderately sober while partaking in cigars at a most excellent cigar joint.

I’ll be leaving this communist sate early in the morning, and will forward all intel to the appropriate sources.

Admit it. This slip just proves you’re at peace in the PRM.

What’s the point of communism if you don’t get sated?

@freelancer (itouch): Only if he found a decent mojito joint. From the earlier dispatches he seems a bit beered out. I don’t think he should ever go to Deutschland, although they do have some decent wines there.

He’s going to be like Teddy Kennedy in that one Orrin Hatch eulogy story:

From what I’ve gathered though, the entire state isn’t so communist, just the cities. Am I wrong in that?

Having lived in Occonomowoc and Delafield and Waukesha WI I can tell you that there is something other than cows and commies.

    @arguingwithsignposts:

Isn’t that true of about, oh, 48 of the 50 states?

Definitely true in Georgia, where it is the Atlanta-Athens “enclave” vs. the rest of the state.

And here in Virginia it’s NoVa vs. “real” Virginia. Urk.

(Somehow can’t picture, but also can’t get out of my mind either, “Honolulu vs. the rest of Hawaii,” but I”m sure someone here can straighten me out. Mahalo.)

Ah communist sate. How delightful that sounds. +10? I would be comatose. How is everyone this fine evening?

@Mark S.: You! I just read that you used to be a ‘winger. I cannot believe it! Cole, I can pictured as a reformed ‘winger, but not you.

    @asiangrrlMN:

Yeah, I did quite the 180. I wasn’t that socially conservative, but I ate up that libertarian bullshit with a spoon. I wasn’t sharp enough to realize that everything I advocated benefited rich people a hell of a lot more than it benefited me.

@Mark S.: It’s funny because I never would have guessed by reading your comments. Like I said, it doesn’t surprise me about Cole and some of the other reformed-rightwingers around these parts, but it came totally out of left field (or is that right?) in regards to you.

    Hey John,

I’m enjoying Kain’s posts. He raises good points, and none of them are talking points!

I used to spend time over at CrossedSwords when it first started. I was always challenged to go hunt up data to support my positions, and sometimes found what I thought was true to be false. Where the idea comes from is less important than if it makes logical sense, and especially if the data supports it.

A good addition to the crew, but after you, Mr. Mix is still my favorite, but then again, I’m a tech guy, so I dig his take on tech.

    Thanks for having this site.

Back in the spring, I spent some time in the soc!al!st hellhole that is Paris. The people there were obviously miserable in their middle class security and lifestyles. The stress of being unable to count on being tax-exempt if they made it to multigazillionaire status was obviously wearing.

Even if he is not convicted in the Senate and even if Dems pay a political price, impeaching Trump is the right thing to do because he’s a criminal who broke the laws. When everything is as broken as it is now, all you can do is do the right thing and hope for the best.
