Here is something positive- I had the pictures I showed you a couple weeks ago professionally framed, and they came back and look absolutely beautiful:
You’ll have to click on the pictures- the colors are just so vivid and wonderful.

Awesome photos, jc. professional framing is an art that doesn’t get enough credit.

Oh that was funny. I had too many windows open and for about a minute I was wondering how Krugman had ended up with John’s cat blanket.

They look good. Enjoy them. What room are you putting them in?

Oh god, the Cinco de Mayo Machete trailer is boneriffic.

Apparently, Fox News is the network of choice for the Kardashian family, according to one of the daughters, Kim. (Is she the one who dated Reggie Bush?) Why? Because it’s reputable, she says.
I think that says it all. Oh well, at least she’s hot.

I won’t mention the lame cat related throw on your couch, or is that your a settee?

Those photos are just stunning! Whose are they again? I would love to have that butterfly one in my spare bedroom.

Very nice….Perfect for the new house.

Michael Pollan’s Botany of Desire is on PBS right now. Fascinating stuff, but I had to walk away because the part about cannabis pissed me off. The plant has been used by humans longer than alcohol, but became illegal during the 1920’s in this country because teh Mexicans used it. The path between stupidity, racism, and shooting corgis in front of children is a short one.
How are you all doing this evening?
John Cole
@Rob in Dayton: That throw is to protect the couch. You did notice the pet pad and the doggie bed. Personally, I prefer the throw over plastic.

I have to agree. Just a splendid framing job for splendid photo’s. My ordered Miter saw is arriving Friday and I will be diving into to hand making pic frames from baseboard trim scraps I buy at Galbreath lumber for 10 cents apiece.

@Brian J: I unplug my TV and still the reality TV drek follows me here :(

I guess I’m just such a longterm pet person that the first thing I noticed was the really nice animal beds behind the pictures.
Your new pics are just beautiful, John. They certainly reflect your great appreciation of living things and quest for true serenity. It’s easy to imagine the wonderfulness of a household that has Tunch and Lily and You walking around, and these gorgeous pictures on the wall.

Beware of Greeks bearing grudges. While Congress soft pedals their faux tough questioning of Goldman Sachs biggies, Greeks take it to the streets to protest the EU debt bailout deal. Some of the photos are absolutely gripping.
Oh yeah, great framed photos. I really wish I had an eye for photography.

@maus:
Okay, I’ll say something else to change the subject, something that was so sweet, it might put John Cole in a better mood. At least that’s how sweet it appeared to be to me.
Anyway, last week, my sister-in-law told my niece, Sarah, that she was loved with all of her heart. Sarah responded that while she loved her mom a lot, she had to save some of her heart for the rest of the family.
I thought that was very nice.

Vitriolic vicious jackals? We are? Ooo. Wowsa. You should write for the movies!
More later. Gotta go practice my snarl . . .

@beltane: When I read this
I SAW this: “Fascinating stuff, but I had to walk away because the part about cannibals pissed me off. “
I was like, uh why?

This morning, Perfect Tommy suggested a site for getting some technical information on the dispersants BP & gang are using on the oil.

I went there this evening and am now much smarter than I was. Am I happier? No, not by a long shot! Yuck!
There is no good solution to a river of oil flowing into the ocean, is there?

The photos look good John. I’m glad you went with dark simple frame and white mat – I’m a purist when it comes to framing photos, and that’s the way to do them, IMHO. Very nicely done.

@SIA: Hey, it was Botany of Desire, not charcuterie of desire.

To his credit, this Florida State Senator was looking at girls, not guys on the Senate floor, so not a complete hypocrite.

No disrespect to the fine people who make a living framing art, but last time I needed art framed the price difference between the pros and ordering custom-cut framing and matting online was stunning.

So, now that the NYC bomb suspect is revealed to be the son of a Pakistani air force chief, will the GOP dial down their foaming at the mouth, or will they go all in and insult one of our allies?
Oh, yeah, and how will the Obama Administration deal with supossed confessions that Faisal Shahzad received training from the Taleban in Pakistan?
This is not just the laughable story of a bumbling would-be bomber. Along with the case of the diaper bomber, this is the second example of someone from a “respectable family” becoming radicalized.

Personally, I want to see pictures of the whole Cole abode. I’m always curious to see how people arrange their spaces. And no doubt some quality entertainment would ensue.

@beltane: Laughing my flat ass off. Funny as hell.
Cole, these two pictures are amazing and stunning. What a great addition to your new home.
P.S. Tunchie, please?
P.P.S. I am watching Maddow right now, and fuck Joe Lieberman with an extra-rusty pitchfork. Asshat.

WOW! Beautiful pictures.
