Teabonics Open Thread

This is pretty awesome- an entire Flickr theme dedicated to “creatively” spelled signs at teabagger rallies, which have been cleverly named “teabonics”:

There is a whole lot of win here.

    I see on closer inspection that it’s supposed to represent a pig. These idjits can’t draw either.

    I guess the “O” is supposed to be a pig (it’s saying “oink”) but it looks like a sperm cell.

    Reposting because it got lost in the Jane Hamsher civil war thread

    A CA GOP consultant, Erik Brown, was reimbursed for the expense after a Young Eagles event in Beverly Hills. A CA blog reported that an RNC staffer’s credit card was declined at the club, so Brown grudgingly put the expense on his own card.

    Yeah, I can see why Brown wanted to be reimbursed. On the other hand, I don’t see how this part of the story really affects Michael Steele. I don’t expect him to know where every dollar goes, and they seem to have fired the people involved.

    JGabriel says:

    Wonkette:

    Turns out Orange County GOP donor Erik Brown covered the Republicans’ party tab at lesbian-bondage disco-strip-bar Club Voyeur West because the RNC’s credit card was rejected. The RNC staffer reportedly said to Brown, who was sitting at the table, “Please help me out and I’ll be sure you are reimbursed right away by the RNC.”
    __
    Ha ha, and then he gets to pay for it and then have his business wrecked, by the RNC, who named him as the Guilty Party and then, late last night, finally half-ass admitted it was a Republican Party staffer who made the charge and hosted the sex-show boozing, and then couldn’t pay for it.

    Moral of the story: Never give money to the RNC. Eventually, it will become public, and deeply embarrassing, and destroy your business and social life.

    Which, to be fair, is a just punishment.

    If ignorance is bliss these people must shit fruity-smelling rainbows.

    Teabonics!

    I love it!

    One of the things that makes the teatards feel so superior to everyone, I’ve found, is that they aren’t “like those young bucks from the streets butchering the English language and living on the gubmint’s tit” (an actual quote from a tea partier I wish I didn’t know). Except most of them are old fucks butchering the English language and living on the gubmint’s tit..

    You’d think if you felt so strongly about something that you were willing to create a sign and hold it in public that you’d spend a few seconds checking your spelling.

    I like the one that tells Mexicans to respect “are” country and learn English.

    Also, Beck guest host says tanning bed tax is racist to light skinned Americans.

They are genuinely DUMB. I mean, you see it in their signs, in the things they say that are like half-cocked, or that are, you know, have no sense of history, or history as they got from Glenn Beck that morning.

    It does, however, paint the RNC as a bunch of spendthrift libertines rather than the fiscal and social conservatives they pretend to be.

    Remember, this was a group of RNC staffers, fundraisers, donors, and marketers who dropped $2k at a sex club, not just one rogue employee attempting to embezzle funds for his own benefit.

    “THE BORROR IS THE SLAVE OF THE LENDER….”

    Yeah, but a Boramander outranks a Lukore. You obviously need to switch armies.

    @Bill E Pilgrim: Damn right! If you’re gonna groove, then you gotta move. Or something like that.

    Bringing dictionaries as a counter-protest? I like the idea. Or, better yet, bring a dry-erase board and go around correcting everyone’s sign. Ha!

    El Cid says:

    @Lyle4: The Constitution isn’t something that you learn by reading it and “studying” it. It’s something you learn by just being with the right kind of people.

    In fact, it’s better that you not read it, so you don’t get all confused, and let the people who best channel what you’re already thinking tell you what it means and says.

    LuciaMia says:

    Were they all rousted out of bed at 4 am and told they had to make a sign ’cause they were off to a Tea Party rally in 5 mins. AND they had to both dress and paint their sign in the dark. Chop-chop!

    Only explanation.

    some guy says:

    @Mark S.:

    Anybody who still thinks the GOP is the party of fiscal responsibility deserves to be parted from their money.

    The teabaggers are in the process of being conned by FreedomWorks, Americans for Prosperity, and the like into voting for the GOP again in November on just that basis.

    I wonder how much Palin and Beck and Hannity can wring from the ignorant pensioners and unemployed before the useful idiots wake up and realize that the GOP has no intention of ever actually making Paul Ryan’s privatization fantasies into reality.

    YellowJournalism says:

    @asiangrrlMN: But it’s even better with the whole Easter Bunny motif. “Hi! I’m the Grammar Bunny, and you’re a moron.” (Hands over dictionary/style book) “Here’s how to spell it. Have a nice day!”

  112. 112
    asiangrrlMN says:

    @YellowJournalism: Oh my god! I love it. If I wore leather horse bits, do you think I’d get more intention?

    @LuciaMia: You win the thread.

    No Amesty

    I can agree with that, can we all jump on that bandwagon and proclaim that there should be no amesty?

    If the Teabaggers taught us anything, it is “Feedom isn’t Free.”

    J says:

    Do the people with ‘socilist’ on their signs think there is something called ‘socity’ and suppose that one can be ‘socil’ with one one’s neighbors or go to a church ‘socil’? If not, and they haven’t grasped the relation between ‘socialism’ and ‘social’, I wonder what they they think the evil ‘socil’ of which ‘socilism’ is the ism is.

    Does that say more about teabaggers or does it say more about the exit level of junior high?

    Looked at all the pictures on “Teabonics.” I found it all rather depressing. And some people complain about young people being functionally illiterate!

    @Punchy:

    i’ll tell you what it is. they started to spell repeal, REPEL, with an exclamation point, then ‘corrected’ the spelling and changed the exc. pt, to an ‘L’.

    or something else entirely.

    @Bender #125:

    So you found one picture from over 3 years ago, and this is the same as an entire Flickr page devoted to items in the last 12 months?

    You teabaggers are really good at the false equivalences, aren’t you?

    I don’t think John would let me post 50 links. Tip of the iceberg.

    Again, you do not want to get into a discussion of which Party has the bigger morons, not when there’s Democrat congressgenius Hank Johnson!

    Tell me again how you guys are the party of SCIENCE!!
