Clarification. This all applies to the question portion, not the speech.
Update. Damn, I should have put “curve” under sip. I meant to but I forgot.
Update.
Add to sip.

Update. Obama is very good. And, shockingly, the questions are good too. I’m surprised. This isn’t that bad.

What the is wrong with these people:
By the narrowest of margins, the Senate’s liberal bloc of Democrats defeated an amendment that would have allowed gun owners to carry their weapons across state lines without regard for stricter laws in many jurisdictions, giving preference to states with looser standards.
In a 58-39 vote, supporters of the looser gun law — including all but two Republicans and 20 moderate Democrats — fell two votes short of the 60 they needed under Senate rules to approve the measure. The amendment, sponsored by Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), showed the bitter divisions among a Democratic caucus that now holds 60 seats, many of whom got to the Senate by winning in conservative states as they proudly supported gun rights. It also divided the party’s leadership, as Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.), campaigning for re-election in 2010, sided with gun rights supporters. His top lieutenants, Sens. Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), led the push against the measure.
I’m not a gun banner or gun grabber, but I do have to wonder what is wrong with some people that they absolutely have to be packing 24 hours of the day and that during these difficult times, the number one concern is whether or not you can take your concealed carry weapon over the South Dakota border. I don’t understand these people at all, and I live around thousands of people who own guns.

This is pretty cool. My Congressman, Eric Massa (D-NY) an ex-Navy guy, just put a press release strongly criticizing Fox and Ralph Peters for Peters’ crazy remarks about PFC Bowe Bergdahl.
The more I think about it, the more offensive I think it is for a tv commentator to speak out in favor the murder of a serviceman.
Here’s the press release (I replaced the email a local blogger friend received with the one from Massa’s website).
Update. I’m not sure how I missed this, but Massa called for O’Reilly to be fired too. Ho, snap!

On Hardball right now, Matthews is grilling Axelrod that abortion may be covered under the potential health plans, and said “what about people who think abortion is immoral.”
Well, screw ’em. The government is constantly doing things that some people think is immoral. Lots of people think it is immoral to wage war. We got two of ’em going right now. Lots of people think it is immoral put people in jail for nonviolent drug offenses. Got a few of those folks in jail right now, too. And on and on.
Other than the implications of the Hyde amendment, this shouldn’t be the slightest concern to anyone crafting the health care legislation.

I think it is worth discussing, as we watch Congress try to cobble together some sort of health care bill that will cover tens of millions of additional people while still remaining “deficit neutral,” that the Bush administration Prescription Drug Entitlement, passed by the “fiscally conservative” Senate and the “fiscally conservative” house (loaded with members of the 1994 Republican Revolution who were now reneging on their term limit pledges) and signed by the “fiscally conservative” Bush administration, didn’t have one single penny set aside to pay for the promises.
And I don’t remember hearing howls of outrage from the Blue Dogs.
