I wonder if the rest of Colorado is sick of Dobson and that Colorado Springs nutbar crowd?

And how will Dobson know anything has changed, as he is full of s*!t already?

If there’s video of Dobson crapping into a cup and sharing it with Ted Haggard please shoot me now because I could never be happier.

The demographics along the Front Range have been shifting over the last 8 years, but it really didn’t become obvious till about 2 years ago. The city I live in (Longmont) used to be a Republican contrast to nearby Boulder, but it voted narrowly for Kerry in ’04. Our local crazy far-right congresscritter (Marilyn Musgrave) won by about 6 points in 2002, but last I saw, she was behind in the polls by about the same margin.

What we have here is a line of falling dominoes. The wingers have a choice– give up on reality, or get a grip. My guess (see 50’s social-psychology classic "When Prophecy Fails" on cognitive dissonance) is that reality takes a beating.

Sullivan has a good post about what is happening in Colorado.

Count me in as another CO resident that grew tired of Dobson and his ilk years ago.
I’m not surprised by the graph. Even my husband, a born and bred Weld County Republican, is planning to vote for Obama.

Nate Silver at 538 has more info on the recent ARG poll results from West Virginia. Basically: he kinda doubts ARG, but Obama’s strength in PA suggests he is getting support from the "Pennsyltucky" part of PA. If so, that is probably carrying over to WV. (I also do kinda think the Ralph Stanley ad is effective; it was meant for Virginia, but could be effective in WV as well). Nate suggests a visit to WV might be a good idea for Obama. Even if it did not bring the state over, it be a strong media event.

A wingnut Fatwa couldn’t be far behind. There’ll be outdoor revivals, bill boards, and Sunday Sermons telling us the end is near — that Muhammad has returned to give you all a Jihadi rectal exam.

@Capelza Gradenko: Speaking for us non-nutbars in Colorado Springs, we couldn’t be more tickled by Dobson’s discomfiture. And we don’t miss the Crystal Methodist one little bit.
I was a state delegate for Obama and the sight of 10,000 cheering Democrats at our state convention was wonderful. 5x that of 2004.
Things are changing around here in a big way. From what I see on my daily commute – which doesn’t include the downtown and western liberal bastions of town — Obama stickers outnumber the McCain by several orders of magnitude.

Ted Haggard is doing meth off a hooker’s dick.
OH! Oh yeah, and the poll numbers look good too.
SamFromUtah
Quick precis for those of us behind the no-vid wall?
Danton
And ARG–perhaps not the most reliable operation right now–has a new poll out on West Virginia with Obama leading by 8%.
I guess the Ralph Stanley radio ad was a pretty good idea, huh?

Aren’t those embeddable Pollster graphs nice?

Obama pulling away in CO
oh, and the DJIA has fallen below 9000.

Thankee, Cleek.

Let’s send Dobson a coupon for Depends. And a box of diaper wipes.

If we take CO, I’m guessing NM will follow.
Thanks, cleek. You just ruined my day. The Dow crashed thru another pyschological barrier. Retires are SOOOOOOOO fucked.
I’m buying stock in beer.

Early in the Nixon years, by my count.

Okay, slightly OT, but I’ve found out I will be doing outside poll watching in Franklin County, OH.
I know it’s a blue county with heavy early/absentee voting, but any more info anyone would care to provide?
Thanks?

Hey, from all of the maps I’ve seen, NM (where I am) is generally bluer than CO. Nothing against CO, I love beer (not looking at you, Coors).
