Two links shamelessly poached from Tom Levenson’s blog that I linked in a post below:
The Star Wars guide to the candidates.
The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot, translated from English to LOLcat.
Since I’m probably going to poach plenty more in the future, I went ahead and blogrolled it.
Also, for no good reason: Morphine. Buena.

Morphine “Buena” is a good reason all by itself. Thanks, I didn’t know that existed, and wouldn’t have thought to look for it.

Morphine BEST BAND EVER! also a great way to kill my varied pains.

Gotta love Morphine. True story — back during Cure for Pain I interviewed ’em for the UC Irvine paper when they were going to play a nighttime show there; Mark Sandman was a considered, dry sort but a good interview for that reason. Met him briefly before the show, thought he was all right.
Anyway, they start up, and about a few songs in the PA system dies. Well, they think about it a bit, then Sandman asks the small but into-it crowd if they’d be okay without amplification. Everyone agreed and, relying on the band’s own bass amp for that much of it, go ahead and play the rest of their set — no working mikes, nothing else but them. Great show, great attitude. For that reason alone I’ll salute ’em forever, and hope Mark’s shade rests well in whatever musical heaven he ended up in.

There’s a Buffy guide out there, too:
