From Cnn.com right now:
That made me chuckle.
At any rate, now that Sen. Craig is on the offensive and alleging a smear campaign by gay activists on the left, will the right blogosphere suddenly lurch, switch gears, and come to his defense? This should be interesting.
As a side note- the videos of Craig chastising Clinton for being a bad/naughty boy are highly entertaining, as well.

K. Lo’s House of Crazy is going for the “profiling” angle
Leader Desslok
Come on, David. You really shouldn’t say that Islam is an ideology which advocates terrorism.
Because if you do, they’ll kill you.
Jake
A boy and his dad share a magical moment in Chattanooga. After dad discovers his passion in the men’s room of Union Station.
That’s the only way his repeated regret that he pled guilty makes sense. He’s hoping this will be interpreted as “I was forced/tricked into pleading guilty. (by the liberofascist police).”
I wonder if his damn lawyers will finally grab him by the collar and tell him to StFu. Everytime he opens his mouth his credibility takes another hit. (You may interpret that anyway you please.)
See, I was under the impression they hustled him down to the station and he pled right there so he could catch his flight, hence the lack of counsel. Now I see he expects people to believe he couldn’t be bothered to retain an attorney at some point between June 11 and Aug 1.
Sure. Buh-bye Senator Bigot.

Let me give Crazy K Lo a hint… If two guys are standing in front of a bank putting on ski masks in July, it’s not because the bank is offering a free vacation to Colorado if you sign up a new checking account.
Similarly, airport police aren’t looking for 65 year old white guys from Idaho… they’re looking for people putting their bags in front of the door, and reaching under the stall.

As would be expected, Senator Craig, typical member of the Party of Perpetual Victimhood blames the evil MSM…
Of course, Senator WideStance in the story was quick to point out that he is a non-gay gay following standard gay Republican thinking. So no need for one of those Dobson approved three-week gay exorcisms like the one that transformed his now fellow non-gay, Haggard.
Leader Desslok
All this Hot Gay Sex is really making me frisky today. This is my third post today.
My fascination with the gayness should be obvious to those hip with the old school Japanimation I grew up on, from which I got my handle. Leader Desslok was one of the antagonists of the 70’s classic “Star Blazers” cartoon. He was an officer in the spacefleet of the Gamelon Empire (God, I feel so nerdy saying that) you can read about him here. You can also read about the persistent rumors concerning his sexuality (not that there’s anything wrong with that) here.
Or you can just listen to his evil maniacal laugh.
Ugh
One wonders if the Bush administration leaked this to distract from Gonzo.
Dreggas
So he overreacted by pleading guilty when he was caused stress because somewhere a paper was saying he was also gay.
I think Paul L. has some serious competition for that contortionist position at Wringling Bros.
Dreggas
typical of bush, throwing someone under the stall like that.
grumpy realist
It would be so…..satisfying…..if just one of Craig’s prior hook-ups came forth and said “yeah, I had sex with the guy, and I’m willing to tell everyone all about it.”
Gotta pray to the Schadenfreude deity, I guess. All hail Discordia!
Dave
I know it’s nothing new, but when did the GOP/wingnuttia become such victims? When did everything become a conspiracy with them?
Jake
I doubt PauleL can limbo his way under a bathroom stall.
Pb
He did, and the Idaho Statesman has the tape. In fact, they printed their account of it, and of playing it to Sen. Craig and his wife:
ThymeZone
Off topic, but can all you send me a picture?
Thanks.

Did anyone else notice that the first thing Craig said during his press conferences was “Thank you all for coming out today”?

You know you can’t trust the police to treat a Republican fairly. The police, like the CIA, are well known to be a bunch of wild-eyed liberal hippies trying to undermine our American values. Especially the police engaged in busting homosexuals.
Dreggas
Well it’s obvious with the CIA, I blame all those experiments with LSD in the 60’s.
chopper
..which also gave us Paul L.

The defense begins… Reynolds links to Slate. Amazing quotes about “fake crime”, “entrapment” and the obligatory “we should focus on Osama Bin Laden” moment. That’s the second deflection in discussion I’ve read in the last hour, changing the subject from a Republican Idaho senator committing lewd acts in a Minnesota airport bathroom stall to the War on Terror.
grumpy realist
Yeah, but we need another testimony now, right on the heels of Craig’s “I am so NOT gay!” outburst. Just to underline it, y’know…..
…hellooooo Eris?

The new right-wing pivot should give Greenwald enough material for another interesting post tomorrow.

and come to think of it a lot of the current wingers which makes me want to re-think my stance on legalizing drugs…
Perry Como
Is anyone else creeped out by what Sen. Craig (R-eacharound) said about Clinton?
“…that Bill Clinton is probably even a nasty, bad, naughty boy.”
From that alone I think it’s obvious the guy has issues. Watching the video, I wouldn’t doubt if he was getting wood while saying it.
Dreggas
and thinking about spankings huh-huh.
Perry Como
Sen. Craig was unavailable for comment.

I’m a Minnesotan, and the local news is reporting airport personnel noting that it is a specific bathroom at MSP that is used for these hook ups.
Now, MSP is a big place. I wonder what gate Craig arrived in and departed from, and whether either of those were near the bathroom in question. If it’s way out of the way, how would he explain that?
rachel
It’s furtive, pathetic gay sex–which is better than no gay sex at all, I suppose.
Having trouble coping?
Rome Again
All this talk to Discordia and Eris, Robert Anton Wilson would be so proud!
Look, Craig is just doing what all creepy Repubs do, lie their ass off at every opportunity.

Dave,
I’ll bite… 1936?

I like this quote from Denny Hastert’s old press secretary about the GOP scandals: “If we had a coach, the coach would take us in the locker room and scream at us.”
They just can’t stop thinking about places where there’s groups of half-naked men, can they?
jake
No, but I’ve figured out why.
Aside from being rabidly homophobic, the GOP is also anti-abortion. Nothing could be worse than taking the life of an innocent zygote. So that means taking steps to make sure they don’t accidentally impregnate a woman because she might consider getting an abortion.
But the GOP is 100% manly men, not a silky pony in the lot. So they have needs and they must satisfy those needs or their manly man stud fluids will back up into their brains and leave them unable to think of new ways to craft tax cuts that only benefit their largest contributors.
Now, taking the above as KnowN TrutH (TM) it becomes obvious that no one in the GOP is gay and they only have sex with men to prevent abortions and bolster the economy.
You’re welcome.
ImJohnGalt
I seem to recall a quote from Ann Coulter right around the Democratic Convention in Boston, where she said the police (and hot chicks) were invariable conservatives. No backpedaling, now!

On another blog, I read this quote from Angels in America which gives a rather lovely and succinct summary of homosexuality and the GOP.
Jackie
I will never condone Bill Clinton for taking advantage of his power over an 18 year old female intern. “He did it because ‘he could'” sickened me then and still sickens me.
Comparing what he did to solicitating 18 year old male pages is laughable. The only common denominator is age 18. Both are abuses of power. Add same sex and it gets way more murkier in a hurry.
Saying “I am not Gay, I have never been Gay” but doing the two-step tap tap tap in a men’s restroom and claiming to have a “wide stance” is just laughable – especially considering his past history of possibly soliciting gay sex AND the fact that he plead GUILTY.
Just resign now and let Idaho go back to being pro-republican, anti gay, anti same-sex marriage. Or better yet, let the next selected Senator from Ohio be faithful to his/her spouse whatever their sex be.
Jackie
I mean Idaho. I swear I typed Idaho.
Nancy Irving
Freudian slip.
So who are the senators from Ohio? Anyone?
Xenos
I am especially impressed at the way Clinton was able fly around the world backwards and reverse time four years and thereby make the 22-year old Monica 18 again so that he could better exert his power over her.
So eeeeevil!
