In a quiet, unscripted moment, President Bush calls John Kerry congratulates him for his primary victory, and wishes him good luck in the upcoming election.
In a quiet, unscripted moment, Democratic candidate John Kerry states the following to supporters.
“We’re going to keep pounding, let me tell you. We’re just beginning to fight here,” Kerry said. “These guys are the most crooked, you know, lying group I’ve ever seen. It’s scary.”
To date, one side of the debate has been nasty, vile, dirty, obnoxious, and immature- and it has not been the Republican party’s vaunted smear machine, either. The Democrats have been disgusting in the last six months.
Guy
Why on GOD’S GREEN EARTH are you limiting it to the past six months?

And today, with the national press/broadcast media fawning all over him, expecting him to be a gentleman and apologize: he turned up the attack volume. What a guy. Can we expect more of this? Is this how he intends to “run to the center?”
I’m in aqgreement with Rush Limbaugh who today suggested that if Kerry & Company are going to accuse Bush/Cheny-2004 of attacking, that they may as well give up being civil and really lay it on him.
Kimmitt
Meh. Y’all proved that one simply cannot sink too low. Remember Willie Horton? Or Grover Norquist comparing tax cuts to the Holocaust? You have owned the bully pulpit and both Houses of Congress for the past two years. Do you really think that we’re not copying your successful tactics?
Ricky
Yes, Kimmitt….it’s the Republican’s fault.
Same excuse, different scenario. All that was missing was a call for tax hikes.

Rave on, kimmett… no one ever sunk lower than LBJ in ’63 with the TV ad showing a child picking flowers in a meadow and then consumed by an atomic blast.
Or more recently, the body of a black man being dragged behind a pick-up truck; sickening, both of them.
Yesterday John Kerry tried to tie former Senator Max Clellan to Vietnam war heroics by saying he left his blood on the battlefield… we all know what Clellan himself admitted to, but your people have no shame. Say and do anything to distort the truth and try to regain lost power.
Forget Willie Horton too, unless you care to mention who initially started the discussion: it wasn’t the GHWB campaign.
CadillacJaq
Please correct that to read: Senator Max Cleland… not Clellan.
Ernest Brown
Gore started Horton.
