Check out my latest endorsement:
This blog used to be an interesting place to see a sane right-wing perspective, but it has degenerated into useless partisan frothing, devoid of sense or support. I’ve moved on to tacitus.org, and I sincerely recommend that you do the same.
I’m insane- devoid of sense, and frothingly partisan! Now that is what I call an endorsement! You might ask- what brought on this critique?
Well, in a nutshell- I discussed Howard Dean, and did not keep my discussion to only glowingly positive descriptions of the candidate. Not that I dissed him- just that I noted that what is propelling his candidacy is anger of the far left- the people who run the Democrastic nominating process. And guess what- even though the media may be new to this idea, I have been stating it all along. From the Balloon Juice archives, 23 May 2003:
Dean seems to have a shot because he is strident and angry, and he appeals to the fringe elements of the Democrat party who are just bitter and angry. That counts, for now.
Dean’s performance so far has been a mixture of half-truths, outright lies, appeals to anger, distortions of the actual record, and general foolishness including his daily backtracking on a previously issued statement. I don’t see it getting much better.
If, after all, God had wanted Dean elected- he wouldn’t have made Dean so unelectable.

Please don’t go all crack-pot Pat Robertson on us.

Heck, maybe he just got you confused with the guy in your “Thieving Bastiches” forum who said Novak didn’t say Indians were election thieves — when Novak had admitted to it plain as day. That was at least devoid of sense, if not frothingly partisan.

If God had wanted Dean elected he wouldn’t have run him against George Bush during an economic recovery.

Funny. That remark comes from Kimmitt, who loudly cried that it was all Bush’s fault that some Syrian Canadian national got expelled back to Syria, and then promptly shut up about it when the Washington Post nailed the responsibility to the Deputy AG.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
You deserve better but, then again, so do a lot of people.
The Loony Left for you.

And no, before some idiot jumps in and says that I’m “gloating”, I’m not.
I’ve always respected John, even when we’ve vociferously disagreed (actually, I’ve probably respected him even MORE for that, I’m that kind of guy), and he’s called me in the past when I’ve gone over the top (such as when I posted the infamous map in the Ewic BumItch affair), but I saw this one coming from a hundred miles away.
You’re a “friend” to the loony libs as long as you pay lip service to their saints. The moment you question them, you’re the AntiChrist.
I’ve tired of trying to reason with people that have no idea what the word means, hence my attitude, for which I offer no apologies.
I’m willing to discuss and open to anybody wishing to debate openly, I’ve always been, but I do not suffer fools anymore.
I lived the consequences of other people doing just that, and I have no intentions of letting it happen once again in this country.
BlameBush
There were those who said Bush didn’t stand a chance of beating Al Gore, either. And they were right! Unfortunately, Dean doesn’t have friends on the Supreme Court who will appoint him to the presidency. He’ll have to win on his own, with help Grassroots America

Let me begin by saying I am a Jonathan Chait Democrat.
Setting aside the valitiy of the anger argument for a second, don’t you think a guy who wants to take a mans job should be angery at him?
OT:
My boy Edwards has received a key endorsement from a role player on my favorite NBA team. Fred Hoiberg is a God(yes I used the “o” Misha) in Iowa. This won’t effect anything really, I just think it is neat.

No, I don’t. I mean, whatever works, but don’t make it a prerequisite.

Well John, I think you engage is partisan frothing. But hell, so do I, and that’s what makes it all fun. And anyhoot, you’ve always been willing to assess your writing honestly and openly. That’s all that matters to me.
As for your comments about Howard Dean…
… I don’t think I couldv’e said it better about Bush.

I find your rabid partisianship odd, since you are closer politically to Lieberman and Edwards than you are to GWB. You could be discribed as culturally liberal, hawkish, and fiscally conservative(I know you a fed-up with the fiscal record of Bush). I am suprised a moderate like you wouldn’t support a moderate like Lieberman or Edwards
I guess if it weren’t for his anti-free trade views I could add Gephardt to this list.
John Cole
I would vote for Lieberman.
Ernest Brown
The anti-Semitic liberal/leftists that drive the Dem nomination process will not allow Lieberman to be nominated.
Period.
End of sentence.
His campaign reminds me of Dr. Johnson’s comments on second marriages, “It is the triumph of hope over experience.”
