You can call me officially underwhelmed:
Microsoft on Monday gave its most detailed look yet at the next version of Windows, code-named “Longhorn,” which features new methods of storing files, a complete revamping of the graphics, tighter links to the Internet and greater security.
Stop giggling about the greater security part. Stop it now, I say.

I’m left to wonder at what time Monday evening MSFT had to post the latest patch for download.

Hopefully there will be a viable alternative to Windblows by then. “Lindows” is trying but still not there. Although they can’t really be any buggier than Windows, can they?

Hey John maybe you could test out Longhorn on your new laptop purchased for you by your readers. How is that drive going? You know Atrios met his goal in a few hours.

I already have my alternative; it is called Linux. I fire up my Windows drive ONLY to do work I take home from the office and even then, OpenOffice is doing the trick 90% or more of the time.
