Worst Censors Ever

For all the oppressive censorship going on, why is it I can’t make it through a newscast without having to hear a Tim Robbins update? Are we members of the VRWC the worst censors ever? At any rate, Keith Olbermann tonight on MSNBC announced that Tim Robbins hired a press agent to deal with all the negative hits he has been taking because of his outspoken views. For free, I am going to provide Tim some sage advice:

“Shut up. The only words I want to hear you speak should be written by someone else, and hopefully under the direction of someone genius, like the Coen brothers, or Robert Altman.”

It really is that easy, Tim. You are an amazing actor- you have been in several of the greatest movies ever made. But I don’t care about your politics. Stick with what you know. And with that, I am going to go flip between the West Wing and the Hudsucker Proxy.

John Kerry, Vietnam Veteran

[sarcasm] Wow! John Kerry is a Vietnam veteran? I didn’t know that. [/sarcasm]

Honestly, folks. Is there anyone on the planet yet unaware that John Kerry is a Vietnam veteran (and for that, regardless of his uncanny ability to be on the wrong side of every political issue, he should be honored as a legitimate American hero)? I think he feels the need to keep repeating this, but it is so tedious, so cumbersome, that after a while, it wears thin. I am not sure why he even bothers- anyone so dumb that they don’t know by now he is a Vietnam vet is going to be voting straight ticket Democrat in 2004, anyway- if they can find their way to the pollbooth and read the ballot.

Another Suit Struck Down

Does anyone keep track of all the unsuccessful lawsuits filed against Presidents? It would be fun to see who had what filed against them. Here is another one against Bush that failed:

A federal judge on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit filed by a former congressman alleging that President Bush violated the 1973 War Powers Act by attacking Iraq.

Former Rep. Clair Callan had no legal standing to file the court action and failed to show that he would be personally injured by Bush’s actions, U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf ruled.

Surely this legislator should have known he would have no legal standing. Congressman understand the laws they make, right?

The Long and Winding Road

Here is a draft of the Road Map for Peace:

PHASE I:
ENDING TERROR AND VIOLENCE, NORMALIZING PALESTINIAN LIFE,
AND BUILDING PALESTINIAN INSTITUTIONS
PRESENT TO MAY 2003

In Phase I. the Palestinians immediately undertake an unconditional cessation of violence according to the steps outlined below; such action should be accompanied by supportive measures undertaken by Israel. Palestinians and Israelis resume security cooperation based on the Tenet work plan to end violence, terrorism, and incitement through restructured and effective Palestinian security services. Palestinians undertake comprehensive political reform in preparation for statehood, including drafting a Palestinian constitution, and free, fair and open elections upon the basis of those measures. Israel takes all necessary steps to help normalize Palestinian life. Israel withdraws from Palestinian areas occupied from September 28, 2000 and the two sides restore the status quo that existed at that time, as security performance and cooperation progress. Israel also freezes all settlement activity, consistent with the Mitchell report.

Congrats are In Order

Go over to the Daily Kos and congratulate him on his plans for global expansion and dominance. Perhaps soon he will have a link up for a Hillsdale College scholarship program so that you can chip in for the child’s re-education.
