I’m not giving up hope until it’s officially confirmed.

Actually, the first woman captured was African-American, John Cole? Any particular reason you are ignoring her?
John Cole
No- I wasn’t ignoring her- she was the one whose parents I though were Jessica’s down below- In fact, I thought Jessica was black until I saw her obit picture.
Jaime
You know, it is becuase of people like you bickering about race (and or religion) that the world is in the terrible shape it is right now. Can’t it be enough that these people are AMERICAN regardless of what color they are?

There is still hope for Jessica’s safe return if her body was not identified from the video. She is MIA, not KIA!

Iam praying for Jessica’s safe return back home.

I agree with Jaimee, Mac Diva is a damn racist. Isn’t it enought that she’s a person, being tortured by cold blooded killers?

This story has really struck home for me. I am writing this more for the family than anyone else. No matter what people think about the war in Iraq, the fact remains we are fighting it. Our people are dying for it. I am currently in the IRR after leaving 1 year ago from the military. However, This story has inraged me enough to were I have contacted my Congreeman and am in the process of being reunited with my Marines over seas. They deserve as much support because they are our soldiers and above all my friends. No one hates a war more than those who fight it and I would trust you all to be mindful to that. To the family of Jessica Lynch; I swear by all of my integrity that if I go There will be a picture of her in my helmet for the duration. I will not and cannot forget about her. I only prey that she is safe right now. And no matter what turns out to have taken place I will be making the trip to WV to pay my appreciation for her sarifice and I prey that it is in person. To the lynch’s my prays have been and will remain with you and your beloved daughter. There will be a reconing. To everyone else I would ask that you also be mindful of te fact that we not only fight for the freedom and liberty of our great nation but also the freedom and liberty of an entire people. And in that we are following in the steps of our fathers and there fathers in fight with bravery , honor and above all integrity. Thanks you, God Bless America and its troops.

I was Jessie’s 10th grade English teacher, and this breaks my heart! She is one of the sweetest, most sincere kids you’ll ever meet, and her family is wonderful, as well, especially her older brother, Greg, who I also had in school. Pray for these God-fearing, good, decent, and patriotic people.

To all those above debaiting the issue of Soshana and Jessica. I cannot see any issue supporting one being black or one being white, or who was first. Soshana is alive and we have seen her talking, breathing and thank God for that. Her family has some resolve in the fact that she is still with us and it is important that she was shown throughout the media. This lets the world know that she is in the hands of the Iraqi military and they are responsible for her care. Jessica is currently an unkown. Is she captured and not identified to the media, is she dead? Is she wounded and unable to communicate? Was she tortured to a point that the Iraqi military feared her body being shown? Instead of arguing over possible discrimination and color. Take a minute and think of what must have been going through Soshana and Jessica’s minds when the ambush happened, and in the moments following the ambush. Take a minute and think about what the families must be going through every minute. What about Soshana’s child? Take a minute and think about the freedoms we are so use to in this country and all the young lives (Soshana and Jessica) that have paid for the things we take for granted everyday. The time you spend debaiting the issue of one being black and one being white might better be spent praying for their well being and safety. And lets not forget that their is another female MIA, and many male MIA and KIA with more to follow. We don’t have to agree on why we are there or have popular feelings about those who have made those decissions, but we do need to support those who are there. I’m sure the majority of them would like to be here with you and I, but they answered a call, they responded to an unpopular event because that was there job, there duty at the time. You don’t have to support the war but support the Soshana’s and the Jessica’s, they and their families need all of us.

Wow, such a shame to not know where such a pretty girl is, it makes me sad to think I should’ve been there to help her, even though I don’t even know her. I am a soldier though and there is a bond between soldiers, so I guess that is what it is, just a feeling of failing her, but I know the soldiers there currently feel the same way, and they will make those responsible for her disapearence feel it to. God Bless America.
SPC Moreno
Both MIA females where from the 509th and were missing the same day, so no one know which actually was captured first. One appeared on Iraq televison the other is unknown, so is in a much more dier situation than the one captured. You also have to be a sic indivisual to come onto this site and make a rude comment such as that mac diva, don’t use your prejudice against these 2 female soldiers becuz they wouldnt stand for you, in there world they both wear green, and you are to imature to see it.

thank God they found Jessica and God willing they will find the rest.
Mac Diva
ROFL! Where do you you find them, John Cole? Lemme guess. You run an ad in Ignoramouses Anonymous. They really should remain that way. There is hardly a grammatical sentence or one without misspelled words among your commenters. FreeRepublic doubtlessly sends them over. Their views? What views? They just echo the latest GOP party line. You really should return them to sender.
BTW, if race is not an issue, why did you use a newspaper article in your missing in action post exalting Lynch for being blue-eyed and blonde? Eh? Can’t hear you?
Karl Edmond
Good news let’s hope that the other are found and that Jessica recovers from her extensive injuries soon.
Alexander
Hi there the “old Europe” wants to join and argue with you.
Despite of what people think about us, I am not crying about Jessi, I am complaining about every soldier missing or beeing killed in action.
The fact that Jessi is lost and that she is a pretty 19 year old, brings your gov. right to the point lets use her for positive propaganda, we are going to free her because if she dies or is dead the weel of fortune can turn.
Ohh by the way my name is Alexander I am from Germany. I used to live for a couple of years in your wonderful country, I love America, I was nearly 6 times in N.Y.C. and I also cried in front of the TV Set when I saw the Towers fall. And I said yes to lets get Osama. But now that is not the way to bring peace to the world. It`s like starting playing chess and not succeeding, just standing up and saying lets play another different game. Strength is not a matter of power, strength is a matter of brains. Be careful because the arabic world can strike back, and what happens then? Use the atom bomb. What are the answers? March in every country where the politics is missliked by Mr. Bush? And please Mr. Bush dont say God gave you the right to go to Iraq. The missuse of religion is very well known in Europe since the last 600 years religion was used to obtain power and to make the everage person speakless. Think about it. I am German but I do care about your country and your military, but history has shown what the ugly faces like “Rumsfeld” So be aware we can not solve every problem with weapons that want work. And there is no axle of evil, the is only an axle of idiotism. The problem is; “Who gave Saddam all the Weapons” And thats a fact the USA did to let them fight against IRAN. And believe me I used to live in Iran when I was a young boy and my American Dad came back from Vietnam, he still is a good patriot but in that war he lost his soul. We the so called free world make the Saddams of the world strong. And after a while we find out he became too strong, so lets walk out and kill him. The so called Free World even looked also th UN when Saddam used biological weapens killing the people in Iran. And hands to your heart people the “OLD BUSH” or Daddy Bush did not want to get Saddam in 1991 he was the smaller evil. So people sorry for any misspelling I am German. And I think about you that this war ends without too much dead americans. And it is good to be a patriot, but its not good to be a blind patriot. If there are voices like the one of a young man of the south saying if Germany is against War lets bomb them aswell, that shows me as a human there is alot to do in front of your own house, that those uneducated mentally ill creatures are beeing kept away from weapons.
Randy Allman
Thank God they got her! My prayers and condolences to the families who have lost their children and loved ones who were not so fortunate.
Alexander
ohoh I did not use the preview, so some unwritten ot wrong written words are there. sorry…
… what i wanted to say about rumsfeld is, these rumsfeld turn our world into rage. Remember the pictures “Rummy” shaking hands with Saddam? That was a couple of years his truth.
… or remember the cia people shaking hands with osama, that is also the truth.
…every conflict that the usa tried to solve with its secret actions, returned as the real evil.
… we all, are not in the position to walk around the world and tell others whats right or wrong.
… its allways a matter of position and thats the problem, we all hace different attitudes to certain things or people. tellin the truth sometimes hurts.
but we get filtered informations.
…this world we are living in should is so small and should have a place to live in freedom for everyone. even for palastines, the iraqi people, the iranian people and so on.
… no one should stand up and say this way is the best, you have to live the way i want it, because its the right way.
… there is only one way of many different ways and attitudes, we have to learn to listen what the world says, otherwise we destroy our beloved planet.
Love you all
Alexander

“It has just been in the news here on TV about the recovery of Jessica Lynch.
In this moment, although I do not know her or her family,I felt great relief and can
comprehend her family`s thoughts and feelings.I have two grown up kids also.
This message is from Germany and believe me,it seems, that we hate americans for what
they are doing now,but it is not so!
I do hate war also and perhaps this war is not right and perhaps it had to be
and perhaps there could have been other solutions.
I do not know and it has been the decision of a government to take this sort of action.
Anyway, there are always miracles and hopefully there will be more “Jessies”.

Jessica and the other girl should have been at home where they belonged. They were of age to be married and at home with their first child, supporting her husband and being a good wife. Women do not belong in the military, they belong at home. But, it is nice to see them safe anyhow.

Actually, the Germans supporting Hitler were not at all unlike the “concerned citizens” supporting pre-emptive strikes from the U.S. these days.

Aleander, what the heck are you talking about, that bastard Saddam is worse than Hitler, at least Hitler could blame some of the attrocities on his subbordinates, unlike Saddam who has his slimy little hands in every evil act that takes place in that little sand box he calls a country. Who cares if President Bush wants to take over the world, the first thing we will do is cordon off France and their snobby attitude and keep the world safe from eating cheese and snails. Man it just kicks my goat to hear people around the world think they know better than Americans, grow up and learn to deal with the new world order, which is America in charge!

I agree wholly with you, we think that we are going to socilize the world by making it like us and that is wrong. If we can just understand that people are different and leave it at that then we can all go for pizza (or whatever your national meal is) and have a good time.

I just wanted to say that I saw an interview with the Lynch family on CNN and my heart really went out to them. I remember Mr. Lynch being quoted as saying that he knew she would be coming home, and now look, she’s been rescued!!! Hopefully someone in the Lynch family will see this and know that just because our Prime Minister does not support the war, it doesn’t mean that Canadians don’t support the U.S. troups fighting for all of our safety in Iraq.

I am so glad that Jessica was rescued. I pray that others will also be found alive and rescued. I just want to say, if any of Jessica’s family?friends are reading this, you are in my prayers. When Jessica gets home, give her a hug from me. My son is in the Air Force, and even though he has not been deployed, I have been so afraid of what would happen, should he be deployed. I can see things from a parents point of view. May God keep our children/loved ones over there safe, and bring them home soon. Kathy

OK Nekron, we all have a bad day sometimes, I am sorry that I got you wrong. And thank you for your better look to the world.

See People Maby this was a very good example of how missunderstanding can cause trouble.
Simon
Alexander, you got it right with what you’ve been saying above.
I can understand that it is easy for some Americans to feel that their superior might gives them the right to do what they want regarding other countries. But although I understand why they would think that, I don’t agree; the idea of a new world order is contemptible. As nekro later said, we should learn to accept that people are different instead of trying to export US culture and values (and economic goods) to other countries

I have read that Jessica Lynch only joined the Army, because that was her only hope of earning money to go to college and achieve her dream of being a teacher. Hopefully, some well off person or corporation will fund her college education after what she suffered on our behalf. If not, maybe we could start a college fund drive for her.

I’m a Canadian, please don’t hold that against me. I heard about Jessica’s rescue late last night and I was ecstatic! Terrific, great effort to all involved including those at home with their prayers and keeping the faith. Big “Thumbs Up” to all.

Wow! I thought this was a forum to show our support for Jessica Lynch and her family! What’s with all the USA bashing??? Have we forgotten that the young woman we’re honoring here is a soldier for our country??? Whether or not you agree with this war is irrelevant to this forum! Think about Jessica! She’s coming home now, but she was a POW and still needs our love and support! Find another forum for your silly arguments, please!
We love you Jessie! We hold you in our hearts! God Bless you!

This morning I heard that Jessica was found and MEDIVAC’d out. What a blessing for her, her family and friends and all others who prayed for her. The reports of her injuries only serve to reinforce the way her family and friends characterized her,…as a fighter. She is truly a hero to me and my daughter who someday wants to join the military. I will be retiring in just a few weeks from the military and becoming a teacher. I suspect that her experiences will serve her well in that endeavor but I hope that she will take the opportunity, if she is able, to continue in the Army and at least finish her enlistment. I understand that her injuries might not allow that, but regardless, she is truly a hero. I hope to someday shake her hand.

God Bless America!! Everybody has to understand that this war will save more lives in the long run and end alot of needless suffering! It is a shame that only a few relize this, but I actually think that the only reason some countries are against it is because they make money off of Iraq, and if you don’t believe me, do some research instead of guessing, they are upset that they will lose this money after the war and it will be used to rebuild Iraq, did you think countries such as Russia and Germany didnt make money, surprise they did, they will lose millions a year after the war is won by America. Even now the civies in Iraq are being grateful to Americans once they know their town is completly free of Sadams Regim, how do you think Jessica was rescued? Iraq civilians gave troops her wereabouts! AFter the war the world will be grateful to America again, especially it’s future residents. That is what America is about, helping all people, not being concerned only about ones own country, and by starting this war, America has proven itself! God Bless America, Let Freedom Ring Louder!

Thank God for all our men and women who are over sea’s Black or White. They stand side by side fighting a war for all the people in America.Who insist on seeing black and white. When you meet a person you should see the inter soul not the color.God gave all of us life he did not put us here to judge or think we were better than the person standing beside us.Thank God that our troups don’t see things as some of you who are posting ads.If they did they would be fighting amoung there selves.Killing the man or woman beside them because of their color.I see family’s on tv who has loved ones missing or in the hands of our enemy and I cry no matter the color. They are just as human and God’s child as I am.Thank God Jessica is safe and pray that the others get out safe too.Instead of fighting about who got out first and what color they were..

Forward msg to alex from “old europe”: France made more of a contribution in putting saddam in power. they currently trade about $5 billion with iraq every year. im sure thats there reason. russia is currently in debt of $11 billion with iraq and if, sorry, when saddam goes so to does putin’s money. germany’s excuse is arguably the most tolerable, given their history. anyway apologies for clogging up the forum with irrelevant data. anyway, on a more positive note id just like to say how thrilled i was to hear this great news of jessica’s whereabouts, also profound sympathy to all POW’s and their families from Ireland

The photo of this lovely young woman touched me. Thank goodness that she is safe, despite broken bones and god only knows how much psychological trauma. Here she is 19 years old and our country put her in harm’s way, FOR WHAT??? Our laws say that 19-year olds are not mature/responsible enough to buy alcohol, yet we send them overseas with automatic weapons to kill our “enemies” There is something wrong here. I am disappointed that we seemed to learn nothing from Vietnam War. Those who learn nothing from the past are doomed to repeat it. Not with my kids you won’t!

Welcome Home, Jessie. Stand tall, head held high, as the pround beautiful American you are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to you and the rest of our troops for answering a calling that few have the bravery or heart to heed. You are a true Patriot, and a hero in my book.
My heart and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones and sacrificed in the name of Freedom. Most of the world will never comprehend what that truly means. And others will try and dissuade us. But I just want the world to know that we Americans are tougher, resilient breed. Just ask on of our toughest, Jessie.

This is in referral to Nekron 99’s comment before about women needing to be at home… I just want to say that you are one SEXIST S-O-B. Jessica was over there fighting for OUR country, getting shot up and God knows what else and you sit here and make a comment about her needing to be home supporting her husband with the baby????? That is most discusting thing i have ever heard. I respect anyone, sex or race that wants to go over there and fight for our lives… and it really makes me sick that sexist jerk-offs such as yourself have the nerve to make comments like that. She is over there so that we can continue to live the way we do and not have to be oppressed by self-rightous, sexist, uncultured, IGNORANT ASSHOLES such as yourself. Maybe one day you will be a POW and know what she has gone though, then we will see what tune you are singing.

I’m glad you are safe and coming home. You are truely a hero.

Jessica is alive…alive and in good spirits! God bless! You’ve got a long and beautiful life to live… Evryone in Pennsylvania is overjoyed for you! I cried when I found out you were rescued from harm’s way.
Karine
When I saw the picture of Jessica’s father, with this sentiment of complete distruction upon him, I was so touched that I prayed for her to return safely to her loving family. I even wrote her name down on a piece of paper at work so that I would visualize her at every moment of the day.
I’m happy for this happy ending and I’m still praying for all the others.

ANYONE THAT KNOWS HOW I CAN GET THIS TO HER NOW THAT ALL PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Over the coming days, weeks, and months, many kids like Jessica Lynch will head off to get their education through Uncle Sam. They see it as their only shot. Now, I look at their young faces on their way to school, imagining them in uniform and I can’t help but ponder the crapshoot before them.
Let’s call a spade a spade. Alright? In this country of ours, opportunity doesn’t always come knocking and education is a privilege afforded those who can afford. That’s how our legislators have set things up for us. So, people do what they gotta do in order to survive, and in these difficult economic times, the military is a chance at an education and a future. Jessica Lynch’s friends and family tell the media that she faced 15% unemployment in her West Virginia county. Straight out of high school and without a job to pay for college credits, what was she going to do? She signed on the dotted line. That’s what she did.
Why is it always the Jessica Lynch’s of the world who have to fight Their Wars? Why not the children of Ivy-leagued privilege? How fair is it that by circumstance of bank account, some face war and others cotillion? Don’t we all have a stake in protecting this “democracy” of ours? Or are Their Wars not nearly as pressing if their children were called to fight?
Girls like Jenna and Barbara Bush, with their trust funds and endless opportunities don’t have to get their nails dirty with war. Not when they’ve got the Jessica Lynch’s of America to do it for them.

Thx god Jessica’s been found in a great militar operation. I’m from Spain, but I want to give you all my support. This success gives the coalition new strenght. Congrats to the family.

I AM SO HAPPY BUSH IS PRESIDENT. i THINK i’LL VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN. gOD DID NOT GIVE BUSH THE RIGHT TO GO AFTER SADDAM. I DID. I SAW A LITTLE REAGAN IN BUSH. I WAS RIGHT. THATS WHY I VOTED FOR HIM. ITS NOT A RELIGOUS THING I’M ATHEIST. AS FOR THE MIA WE NEED A WAY TO TRACK THEM IN FUTURE WARS. HOPEFULLY BEFORE WE TAKE OUT NORTH KOREA.

Hi,
i like to say that i’m quite to see her save.
BTW: Not everybody in Germany is rejecting the military operation in Iraque.
I’ve only two things to say:
They should have done it in 1991.
There are maybe not enough troops in the region for a fast victory.
Best wishes

God Bless America!!! Welcome home Jessica! My prayers and thoughts go out to all our troops and their families.

Alexander, you are too smart and mature to be understood by young immature naive but deep down good Americans. They will learn about their crimes in 20-30 years, as any other aggresor nation larned about themselves in the past. I’m glad Jessica is alive and I’m sorry that she was taken to this shameful mission so young and that she had to take part in this war crime. Soldiers are payed to kill, and so is she. They already killed hundreds of Irakis by now. There is 1 000 000 people killed in Iran and Irak by US led actions. Saddam and Osama are created by US. Extreme Saudi Arabia is created by US. Iranian, Libian, Sirian, Palestinian suffering is indirectly created by US. All these countries should be among the richest in the world. But Americans did everything to create dictatorships in order to rule. These nations have huge history, they have very smart and educated people, they have CULTURE. They can rule their countries, don’t worry about that. They don’t want to fight you, they don’t want to invade US, they just want US TO LEAVE THEM ALONE AND TO GET THE FUCK OUT OF THEIR COUNTRIES! But US is greedy, America needs even more money, even more power, even if it means killing and suffering of millions. That’s very dangerous, because this is going on for couple of decades, not from Sept 11. Americans know very well how painfull was the unfortunate loss of several thousands people on Sept 11, so please, please just try to imagine how much pain US caused by directly and indirectly killing millions elsewhere, and only then you will be able to understand hatrage and scepticism and violance towards this beautifull country all over the world. There is the reason, they are not jalous as you think. They just want you to LEAVE THEM ALONE.
All this is very sad, because America is beautiful and fair inside, and only if it was so beautiful towards outside, it would be the best place in Universe. Unfortunately it is not so. Americans are also honest, good paople. But also not highly educated, without long history and experience, they are not trained to read between lines, they act as any other aggresor nation in the world: they watch the news on their TVs trusting with all their big good hearts to these arrogant, stupid, nontolerant, aggresive faces, who are telling them that they are being attacked so that they easily get the support to attack.
Well God bless the World and Americans and help them to learn about themselves soon before it’s too late, and I believe it’s possible, because this is the most developed country in the world, there is Internet to help them and educate them.
And one more message to Americans:
no nation is better then the other, human genes are the same, all these Iraki, Iranian, Palestinian, Afganistan, Turkish, Syrian people that you see on TV are the same as if they were your aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, parents, children, the same flesh and bone. The same pain, the same emotions, the same pride and love to their families, culture and their country, the same urge and desire to fight and protect when any of these are attacked.
So be carefull what you are doing.
And read, READ AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!! READ HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD! I bet you will be very unpleasantly surprised

THEY HAVE JESSICA! SHE WILL BE COMING HOME ALIVE! I am proud of women in the military and I am sure I am going to get a lot of flack for this but I wish them were never allowed over there. Horrible things happen when you are a POW but I cannot bare to think about someones mother daughter or wife over there in ememy hands. I’m sure everyone knows what I am getting at. Reguardless I think she is brave, I appreciate her fighting for this country and more importantly I am glad she is coming home alive.

Dear Adelisa:
Oh, get off you high horse and start thinking for yourself. Towing the stale anti-Americanism party line simply won’t get you very far these days.
Sweetheart, you really need to understand that two European nations — Britain and France — played a HUGE role in creating the problem that is the Middle East, Persian Gulf, and Southwest Asia. After the fall of the Ottoman Empire, it was the British and French that went in, dividing up the land, establishing laws that they saw fit. You, too, need to read history and geography from the beginning of the world… as you, too, are in for some unpleasant surprises.
The United States by no means has a clean conscience, but it’s high time that self-righteous citizens of the European Union realize that their hands are no less bloody.

One more thing, sweet Adelisa… You’d likely be deeply troubled by the strong economic ties — economic ties that are no less exploitive and hurtful of the citizens of these countries — that play a cruel hand in this crisis. If you really think that France and Russia are sitting this out for reasons of political conscience, you have another thing coming. Stop with the anti-American poo-pooing. You are only make a fool of yourself.

I’m glad you are Concerned, England and France have screwed my country, and hundreds of thousands of people were killed for their little dirty interests, I escaped only by pure luck. I came to US because I believe it is still the best country on this Planet and that’s why I care. It just hurts me, realy hurts me that US is doing things that might put them in the same dirty category with Britan and France.
Until now this country was oasis, the only hope that one day the world will be a decent place to live…..I’m losing that hope, therefore I feel very bad, so sorry if I hurt some of your national feelings.
I’m not anti-American, I am pro-American, that’s why I’m spending my one in 3 weeks day off on these things….

Thank you for your note, Adelisa. Believe it or not, I am not exactly for this war, as the need for “defending” this country has not been at all pursuasive. (Ironically, and perhaps in poor taste, I eagerly await the discovery of “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraq in order to feel remotely better about this war).
At any rate, it sounds as if you and I are more or less on the same page, albeit coming from different angles.
I wish all of us peace… and I sincerely hope that the desire for peace is no less patriotic.

I was very relieved to hear that Jessica was found alive and that she is safe now. I pray that all the other POWs and MIAs will have the same luck as her. God Bless!

Jessica – I wish you and all the Troops serving in the United States Military a safe return to your country, family and friends.
Americans – do not forget the military personnel who went in and rescued her. They are TRULY HEROES!
Canadians admire what you are doing. Not all Canadians agree with their Governing Leaders decision. That being said. Canada took part in the Gulf War 1990-91.
There are Canadians Fighting in Iraq right now. Canadians who are involved with Military EXCHANGES with our American Friends and Allies. Canadian Military personnel are in Afghanistan, looking for and assisting the Americans while they search for Bin Laden. Let us not forget that this criminal is still at large.
Do not GROUP ALL CANADIANS TOGETEHR! That is not Fair.
I have American and Canadian Flags in my car windows and have done so since 911.
God Bless ALL the troops in Iraq fighting Saddam Hussein.

And, may I add, this is a medium to show support and well wishes for Jessica and her family. Please take the politics and other remarks to a more appropriate place. What would you people do if you were standing outside her hospital room? Start going on about how your country feels or how you feel about our country? Some of you people should never work for Hallmark.

I am glad that she has been found. She must have been so scared. It is a shame that our economy is so pitiful that you have to enlist in the military just to get a college education. This really is quite a touching story. ‘Just wanted to pass along a few verses from the Psalms that perhaps this soldier and/or her family might appreciate, if even in retrospect:
“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth… The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever.” (Psalm 121: 1, 2, 7, & 8)
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your spiritual diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” (Psalm 103: 1-5)

I just wanted to say how touched I am that Jessica was found safe. It was especially moving to find that this young lady joined to service to save money for college to become a teacher. Someone willing to serve in two such honorable professions must be special. I saw the Govenorer of W Va present her parents with a full scholarship so that she can live her dreams.
I enjoyed reading the posts here especially from the people that actually know her. I can’t imagine what the last weeks have been like for her but I am sure if you know her today, she will need your support. God Bless Jessica!

I’m really glad that your ok Jessica, may peace and happiness be apart of your everyday life. :)
i would also like to send a message to all inhabitants of earth. Now is the time for change.
We are living in a century where Change is inevitable and necessary.
For hundreds of years now we have been living together on the same planet (vessel, ship), but we have not worked together to keep our ship from sinking. Instead we have been taken in by greed, power and domination.
In the world we live now we consider our neighbor to be a few steps away, but in fact we are all neighbors, all residents, inhabitants coworkers traveling together on the same Mother-ship Earth, with no lifeboats on board.
So everyone please take it into your own hands, and make our time here on earth something really special for centuries to come.
Lets Be Friends!!
Only together, we ensure our safety and prevent us from disasters that will sink our proverbial ship Earth.
I strongly believe, one person can help to make a better world. That person is all of you!
So keep smiling and be positive and you will see, positive things will happen.
Peace Love Unity Respect. pass it on..

Families like Jessica’s make me proud to be a native of West Virginia. So often we get only bad press but she is a very brave and wonderful person to risk her life so I can live in peace. Many many thanks to her. Saying thanks seems like so little in return for what she has done for us.

We can paint this any color we want to, but the fact still remains that this girl has been through something that because of her and many like her, the people of this free country do not have to experence. I pray that you will be able to get past this and have a normal life again. We don’t know what happened to you Jessica, while you were a POW, but we do know that we all love you and pray that you will take this experience and turn it into something possitive. I am sure you know better than any of us, how important this war really is. Well gee, I keep seeing theses comments about Canada not being involved in the war. Let’s let everyone in on the secret, shall we, namely that:
1. There are at least two, maybe three, state of the art Canadian navy frigates in the Gulf, and a Canadian destroyer on its way, if it is not there already;
2. A Canadian navy supply ship is or was there too;
3. Persian Gulf Task Force 151, consisting of American, British and Spanish warships, is under Canadian command;
4. Canadian air force personnel are flying in American planes;
5. The Canadian air force has two Aurora surveillance planes there doing reconnaisance and identifying Iraqi targets for USAF and Navy fighters and bombers;
6. The Canadian Air Force has at least two supply and transport planes flying supplies into the Gulf for the coalition;
7. About 150 Canadian soldiers are guarding the base from which the Canadian reconnaisance and supply planes are flying;
8. Canadian armed forces personnel are manning key positions at the coalition headquarters in Qatar;
9. Many Canadian soldiers are on exchange in British and American units, in command positions, in combat in Iraq;
10. Canadian Joint Task Force Two special forces are still active in Afghanistan to relieve more American troops for duty in Iraq, and at least two thousand more Canadian troops are scheduled to be deployed;
11. Canada has the third largest active committment to the coalition, after the U.S. and the U.K., and greater than Australia. It will also probably have a huge peacekeeping committment in Iraq after the war, and that should be an almost impossible job.
Canada not involved? Give me a break!

Jeez, I wish someone 30 years ago, or so, would have gotten this upset every time one of us went missing in the Mekong Delta! You think we have coverage of the war now, think what it would have been like if there was a special newscast every time four Marines were killed in Vietnam. Nonstop, 24 hrs a day, every channel. It’s all relative, people.

First off, I pray that all the POWs return home!! Jessica you sparked me so much because of your age, strength, honor and bravery. For a woman who is 19, small and meak *sorry from what I seen* YOU PULLED THROUGH!! Whatever it was that pulled you through it, I hope the others find it in them as well. I am a young woman who has been so inspired by your story, and my heart goes out to you and your family! If there is anyway someone in the family could send me a place to send a letter, award etc.. I would so much appreciate it. My tears weep for all who have died, all who are being held as POWs, for all races of both cultures who want to be able to unify the new era, without such losses! I have been taught, that for every soul that is taken, one is given back… I hope that this “New War” gets back everything it seeks, and I care about all of you!! SMILE always, and Enjoy life and everything in it!!

Jessica,
You are very special to me and your story touched my heart so much that I am crying as I write this. You are special, first, because I can relate to your story of wanting to do something with your life. I grew up in Pennsylvania, in a town very similar to the one you grew up in. I also joined the military (currently serving in the Air Force) as it was one of the few options I had. I have no regrets and feel it was the smartest decision I ever made. You are also special to me because my daughter’s name is Jessie and I can only imagine what it would be like for her to experience what you have. I think very highly of you and wish you the best. Get well and please know that so many people love and care for you. XOXOXO

Since I heard the story of Jessice and saw the footage of the others captured, I have been consumed by the thought of what happens to those captured and MIA. I can only assume that it is unimaginable. All of the men and WOMEN that are risking their lives for us are amazing! I am so glad that Jessica had the will to hang in there for over a week. This country should be proud! Your story gives hope! I pray that she gets through the weeks to come both mentally and physically and I am sure she will be stronger…if that is possible!

Ya know, there are a few male soldiers missing as well, no one seems to be too concerned with their welfare. Just because a female goes missing and gets captured means that everything else and everyone else gets put on hold? No one has seemed to give a damn about the two apache pilots who were captured, oh thats right they are men, well if you feminist are so bent out of shape to get your equal rights then start accepting the fact that your going to get killed and captured and tourtured like the rest of us (or isn’t that in your equal rights wishes). Yeah Miss Lynch is safe, but we need to also remember the other soldiers who arn’t.

Jessica is a true hero there is a report in the Washington Post about how even after being wounded by gunfire and watching her fellow soldiers die, she continued killing Iraqi’s until she ran out of ammunition and was stabbed as she was brought down.
Brian Bennett
For the person that suggests that we brought “home the Caucasian” first is obviously extremely ignorant of what the military does regarding their brothers and sisters in arms – the only reason that they got Jessica first is because they had an Iraqi *tell* them where Jessica was. How liberal of you to make race an issue in an area where it absolutely shouldn’t be one.
To MacDiva – if you’re going to rail against people towing the GOP line, you should stop towing the Liberal Left line. Until then, your arguments are as meaningless and pointless as most liberal rants.

I think the age to join the military ranks should be raised to age 21. You can’t even buy liquor until that age, yet our government is willing to send these kids to a foreign country with a couple of months of traing to kill??? What is the big threat that this little country is imposing on the USA. I have no gripe with the troops. My gripe is with a government that is willing to sacrifice its children in this horrific manner. When these young people come home they are going to be left with a mighty big WAR bill to pay. What could possible be more touching that the tale of a blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl who is wounded and taken prisoner in combat, only to be rescued by a team of strapping your male marines. Nothing, absolutely nothing.
This, my friends, is precisely what Centcom and the Pentagon have been banking on. Feeding images and tales of heroism to the media, playing the heartstrings of viewers around the world.
This is propoganda at its best… and worst. With the rising tide of doubt and concern regarding the tactics (or even reasoning) behind this war — and, for what it’s worth, I sincerely hope that “weapons of mass destruction” are soon found so that we can begin to justify this military campaign — absolutely nothing does a better job of countering dissent than the story of a the girl next door lost and found. Make no mistake about it… the rescue of a male POW or an African-American female soldier would, indeed, be good news… but it simply wouldn’t carry headlines for days on end, distracting the American public from the barbarism and embarassing errors that are this war.
Amber
TO Nekron: Your comment about Jessica “should be married with kids” is really a joke. You should be embarrased to post such a silly statement. She is 19 and has her whole life ahead of her to experience. Hello??? In case you haven’t noticed, young men and women these days are making a life for themselves; making their own decisions. They would like to experience life before thinking of marriage and babies. Just what world are you living in???? Rarely does a 19 year old think of marriage as their top priority at this age. I am proud of her — and her family supporting her decisions in life. Yes it’s risky but that’s what life is about — Risks! She has plenty of time to think of marriage/family later on in life. You must be living in a dream world! What a jackass comment. Perhaps you have — or had no ambition in your life and/or were forced into marriage at a young age and have blinders on(?)
Wake up and smell the coffee!

I must say this forum can be quite amusing to read. To the person who wrote:
“Make no mistake about it… the rescue of a male POW or an African-American female soldier would, indeed, be good news… but it simply wouldn’t carry headlines for days on end, distracting the American public from the barbarism and embarassing errors that are this war.”
Really? Is that what you think this is about? A POW is a POW….is a POW….is a POW…….that was CAPTURED. This isn’t about black, white, yellow or red, or any other color under the rainbow; or male or female, girl or boy next door. A POW WAS CAPTURED. End of story. Those of you who feel the need to bring up such issues should really consult a therapist. Let’s remember that Robert Blake, Timothy Mcveigh, O.J. and others got plenty of press. Hmmmm…still think it’s because of race, color, boy, girl next door? How about because THEY ARE KILLERS.
Shayna
To Brian Benett:
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Some posting here are not only ignorant of the War, they have no clue by their racial, and other comments. It’s not about capturing the “caucasion”. They stopped for a coffee break (oh, sure they had time for that) and flipped a coin as to capture whom first and said “Let’s get Jessica, she’s the pretty blonde, blue eyed caucasion”. It’s because they were tipped off about her whereabouts. This is WAR people. Get a grip. It does not categorize by age, race, color, size, etc.
Kelly
Firstly, the story of the rescued POW is very nice. Sad she had to be put in this situation for very debateable reasons, but I’m elated for her life being spared in this mess. Shaynas right. To think otherwise is pessimist negativity founded in no more truth than to believe the opposite. If you need to believe that behind every happy ending there is a dark conspiracy, enjoy your life. Finally, to those who claim this proves that a god exists because he spared this young womans life, you really owe it to yourself to splash some cold water on your face. Human beings risked their existence to make her rescue a reality, thank them. Imaginary friends don’t save people, they kill people, as all religions of imaginary friends claim ‘the one’ god as thier own and calls Jihad or the ‘wrath of god’ on one another. It was in service to their leader and god that the Iraqis shot Jessica. Lose the crutch, the real world needs your help and attention. There are lots more humanitarian efforts waiting for YOU to roll up your sleeves to help and a big hand isn’t going to swoop out of the sky and save people like Jessica. Its the hands attached to your arms that will get the job done. Believe in what you like, but know that for millions, accepting faith in cold hard reality has been a step to accepting responsibility for the actions of mankind instead of waiting for god to make it right, or for a cushy afterworld based on a life of belief in said god. Prayer will instill hope in those who need it, but your time here on earth isn’t a fairy tail from the bible, its *your* one shot to make a difference. Heaven and Hell isn’t imaginary, its what your life becomes by your actions, or lack of them in this world. Don’t hate this point of view, consider it strongly, it may just save you many years of waiting. And don’t worry about trying to curse me, if I’m wrong about all this, well it’ll be punishment enough that while your sipping Pina Coladas in cloud 9, I’ll be the guy sweeping up all the straws you drop into hell.

I am glad she is back.you are a real hero.fight for it

RIGHT ON! That was, perhaps, the most incredible posting I’ve read on this site. Finally… a voice of reason.

Not Shayna
Yeah Shayna, you tell ’em. For someone who can’t even spell Caucasian and has the sentence structure of a dyslexic high school dropout, you’re definitely the one to be pointing out the ignorant among us.
John
Shayna, once you’ve learned to spell “Caucasian” correctly and learn to put a sentence together, only then will you have the right to start calling others ignorant. I truly hope Jessica Lynch sees this Web page… how proud she’ll be to see that she’s fighting a war for a bunch of backwater Americans who can’t spell or write.
Steve Miller
You guys are really lame. Not only do you unoriginal idiots repeat posts over and over, but you actually try to write witty intellegent posts that just sound STUPID. God, you people are seriously of the nerd generation, plus the only morons that respond to your posts are people AS PATHETIC as you! Some of us like to go for a more ‘intellectual’ audience. None of you have a fucking clue about anything, and you post on the INTERNET!! HAHA NERDS!!! You need to seriously find something to do with your time. AND SOME OF YOU POST MORE THAN ONCE A DAY! HAHAHAH! LOSERS! Don’t bother responding to this, as I’d die before I came back to this waiste of space. You losers. Such a sorry bunch of nerds here. but, this is the internet, what can i expect?
HAHAHAHA
I am better than you.

And one other thing, Canada is not a country. It’s a waisteland of idiots and fat retards. It’s pronounced “about” not ABOOT you ILLITERATE MORONS!

To the Losers:
Mr. Not Shayna and John
Judging from your posts, you should go ahead and get your GED. But please go back and read what you wrote. It isn’t exactly Journalism material, that’s for damn sure.
And for the record losers, people do make errors when typing. Did that ever occur to both of you that it was an error? And as I see above, I’ve left out an s as well. Let’s see if you can find it. I highly doubt it.
Well, at least I admit my mistakes. But that isn’t the issue here. You had to come up with something so trivial as a typo, to avoid the truth in what I said to you. Because you are in denial. What bitter pathetic wimps.
Instead of using the head between your legs, use the one between your shoulders sometime. I’m sure you’ll get more attention with that one.
Oh yeah, and for the record, I run my own successful business. Hmmm….wonder what both of you do for a living — or if you work at all. Sit around the couch all day….drinking beer. Or perhaps absolutley nothing with your lives?
I’m so sorry this board doesn’t have spell check losers.
p.s. Not Shayna: You couldn’t come up with an original name. Your pathetic.
jana halton
It is really nice that Jessica was saved. There are still POW’s who have not been found. I feel that the media is placing to much attention on her and not enough on the other POW’s and those who rescued Jessica. There are too many people that have lost their lives and who are still over there fighting. Jessica was saved, she is safe and in a hospital, she does not have to return to battle. She was captured doing what she is being paid to do, serve this country. There are others out there who don’t feel like heroes because everyone seems to think that you have to be injured to be a hero. No offense, but Jessica is not my hero. Can we focus on those people and those still waiting to be saved. Jessica is already on her way home.
Steve
I would have to agree with Shayna’s views. I am not here to begin a war on this board. There’s enough of that in the world right now. But Shayna’s posts are just various words to make a point. We are not here to form a perfect sentence, or to write a perfect letter. We are not here to obtain a college degree. You must be aware by now that being the Internet. Things are often written and taken out of context. In order to save time, people will form very short sentences and symbols, to get their point across. This keeps things simple. At least, that’s how I saw it, especially when she wrote POW a few times. That’s just getting a point across to the person above her.
So, to the two men who gave her a difficult time, I would like to know if you have any class. I believe both of you are the same men who think Jessica should be married at 19, barefoot and pregnant. I also believe you are narrow minded to think that Jessica was captured because she’s “Caucasian”. Please make sure that I’ve spelled that correctly.
Shayna hit a nerve about your comments. You disliked what she said, so you conveniently came up with “a dyslexic high school dropout” to avoid the truth.
Well, if you think Jessica will have a laugh reading Shayna’s errors, think again. She’ll have more of a laugh reading what you posted about her being captured because she is white, and that she should have been home, married with children.
Peace

At the party after I raised Lazarus from the dead, a lot of people were very happy and rejoicing. Yes, there were others that I didn’t happen to raise from the dead that day, but their time will come. One thing I didn’t see were people complaining about the fact that the family and close friends of Lazarus had something to cheer about.
‘Nuff said.

I bipassed all the other comments, after reading the slur from Thomas.Hello!!! This is the year 2003.I can’t believe you wrote that Jessica should have been homebound and married, raising a family. This letter is coming from a 47 year old Mom,Navy Mom,and Foster Mom of 34 children, over an 8 year period.I didn’t start my career until I was 36.I chose to be a fulltime Mom.She chose to serve our country.Jessica has made me so very proud!!!I have a son in the Navy, and if women chose to serve in the armed forces, they know the circumstances that can face them, the same as male service men.She is so brave, and it makes me so proud,to have a female example of courage in the USA Military. She has given all women in this country the example of bravery for our Country.I pray for all the POW’s daily, and can not imagine anyone bringing race into this subject. The colors are only red, white, and blue to me.Race has no factor for me,I love all our Military the same.I’m coming to visit Jessica when she comes home. She only lives 40 miles from me.She has given our State of WV so much pride!!I’m bringing gifts from all over the country and world with me.Thank You Jessica, you have made my decision to help with the Humanatarium Project, after the war a must for me.God Bless You Jessica,Tyler County WV,Navy Mom,Sue Ellen,Very Proud Of YOU!!!!

Dear Alexander,
I hope I did not offend you with my comments. If you feel the urge to debate this war then lets do it in the correct manner. [email protected]. This is not the correct forum to address your personal knowledge of what’s best for the world or personal revelations of gods’ prayers. I have to agree with you though, I am sure the iraqi people would vote for freedom under saddams’ rule… if they could vote.
p.s. please call me names in my personal email leave this site for jessica and her well wishers.

My Grandfather served in the Army during WW1. My father served in the Navy in the 50’s. I would have proudly served our country as well, but I was born blind. I gained sight in my right eye at the age of two. I wrote this poem/song to say thank you to all those who serve our great nation.
Thank You for your time!

What They Gave To Me
By Jack Kapanka
I saw it on the TV late one night
A war broke out we were joining the fight
My head grew heavy My heart stood still
The thought of it gave me one hell of a chill
I prayed for the soldiers as they left through the night
Scared as can be yet so ready to fight
There was Mark and Bob, Billy and Joe
It damn near killed me just to see them go
They all headed out to a foreign land
Each boy carrying a gun in his hand
They fought for freedom ‘cross the shinning sea
So many gave their lives just so we could see
America is the land of the free
It’s the best damn place in the world to be
America is the home of the brave
I feel so lucky for
What they gave to me
They all grew up with dreams in their head
Lessons to be learned So much to be said
Told that here in the land of the free
Do what you want be who you want to be
It hasn’t been so easy now the world is changing oh so fast
It’s time to learn from what mistakes we’ve made
And try to not forget the past
My son looked up at me the other day
He asked me a question in an innocent way
Daddy what’s the matter with the man next door
He’s got a black and white flag hanging from his door
It says POW/MIA
Daddy why’s he crying will he be ok
I turned to my boy looked in his eye
I told him what I’d seen in the years gone by
I said a long time ago to a foreign land
A young boy left to become that man
He fought for freedom ‘cross the shinning sea
He would have given his life just so we could see
America is the land of the free
It’s the best damn place in the world to be
America is the home of the brave
I feel so lucky for
What They Gave To Me
Thank you for keeping me free!

As I’m from Austria I may not always feel like you but as far as I can I stand behind your/our troops in Iraq. Believe me, I pray for all of your/our soldiers who’re there to bring peace and freedom to the world. But please don’t forget the Iraqi civilians, they also deserve our prayers and our help. Again, I can’t express how happy I feel for the safe return of Jessica. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Western peace activists are hypocrites! Of course the war is about oil and all people in the West benefit from that. We all chose this path through democracy. Trust me, if the shoe were on the other foot the Iraqis would do the exact same thing. Aaah did you see a dead baby on t.v.? Of course! It’s WAR. Think about that when you step into your car to use some more oil. Do you? Do you really care? Or will you vote for the party that promises lower gas prices?

Um, as the owner and sole writer for this site, I am unsure who “Moderator” is- because it sure wasn’t me.
Would Mr. Moderator please email me at [email protected] to explain why I should not ban him/her?
Also, I like to let people just go at it in the comments- generally, the anti-war hate arguments from the left are so awful they discredit themselves, so I just keep letting them talk. Only if a comment is nothing but vulgarities will I do something.

How sad. This bulletin board of good wishes and hope for peace (I don’t think anyone really *wants* this war) has become a runaway freight train of animosity, bitterness, and criticism.
Jessica Lynch may symbolize what is wrong and right about this war. But for many of us who have friends and family participating in the conflict – I have two children, an incredibly brave son and daughter, in Kuwait and Iraq at this time – Jessica’s rescue is deeply personal, an encouraging story for those of us who are dreading the possibility of a knock on the door from a bereavement counselor from the U.S. Marines.
Please, I’m begging you all. Take the time to reflect on how precious life really is – our own lives, the life of a loved one serving in combat, the life of an unknown soldier on the front lines, and the life of our “enemies” doing what they feel is equally just.

Im not even trying to sound educated or anything like that but i just want to point out that most people here are leaving very caring messages and thank God for you people. Also, sexist low lifes like Nekron 99 and people who have nothing better to do than tear down other such as Steve Miller really need to get of this site and leave it to people who are actually going to write something worth while. You two should really be ashamed of yourselves… there are always “people like you two” who make this beautiful world seem terrible at times. I hope that trying to hurt others and make others feel bad have helped out your lives in some way because that is probably the only pleasure you pathetic guys will ever recieve. It’s never hard to see who the scum and waste of this planet are.

First I would like to say to all of the POWs amd MIAs that my prayers go out to you and your family. I wanted to say our prayers but, I probably would have offended someone and caused a stir. Dearest friends,
I sit here reading your messages and have such a myriad of feelings. I am overjoyed for Miss Lynch’s safe return. I am so proud to be in a country which gives us such wonderful freedoms but am saddened beyond anything most of you can possibly imagine. Most of you are citizens of this blessed country and I am, too. I am here in this country because my parents wanted more for me than they ever had or their parents before them. I was born in Iraq. My parents are still there. So are my sisters, my brothers, my 37 cousins and dozens of Aunts and Uncles. I am here studying to be a Doctor. I AM THRILLED that American Military troops are fighting to free my family from the brutalistic, barbaric, maniacal butcher who has kept them under a veil of terror and fear for decades. There are no freedoms there. Phones were monitored and if you dared to speak one negative word against Saddam you were tortured and murdered. My oldest brother had his genitals removed, stuffed in his mouth and before he was killed they took a picture to send to my parents. This because it was discovered that he told a friend that Saddam was evil. Believe me, my friends. Millions and millions of Iraqui’s are overjoyed that “freedom” will be here soon. Many serve Saddam because they must protect the lives of their wives and children. Saddam is no respector of persons. He will kill an infant or a grandfather. You can’t imagine the ways in which he tortures people. You have no idea how many torture chambers he has hidden. Brutality so fierce I cannot even tell you half of what he does to those he captures. We are a people living in constant terror and fear. He uses whatever means he can to force and bully citizens to serve him. So, please do not say negative things about President Bush’s decision to attack Iraq. Hussein makes Hitler look like Shirley Temple.I remember 9-1-1. It was just the beginning. And yes, there are many evil dictators and quite possibly the one’s who remain will think twice before wanting to meet eye-to-eye with our amazing President. The consequences are mind altering. God Bless America and those who are serving our Country in this Noble cause. It is appreciated—-believe me. I can assure you!

Damn that George W! I hate Dubya for taking the US into a battle for oil! He has no balls and has “Daddy” make all his decisions for him! PFC Lori Ann Piestewa should not have had to put her life in danger to fight for oil or to solve the problems of another country!

I can’t believe how this forum has gotten so far from it’s purpose. No one is trying to make a hero of anyone. It is just to show respect and our admiration for a girl that was in a bad situation and many others like her. It is so hard to believe that so many can be selfish and ignorant. I am really proud of our young people of today. We hear so many negative things about them and it does my heart good to see how mature and responsible they are when it really counts. Thank you to the youth of America for comming through when you are needed most.

I came to this forum,to see notes for Jessica.I posted a few days back after reading some of the bizzare comments.I feel really bad for some of these people who have posted. They must have had alot of hurt in there life,to write such hateful comments. Then there are the inspirational posts, from military parents, people happy over Jessica’s rescue, and even an Iraqi telling us the truth about the horror this country has lived threw.I didn’t vote for Bush, but I will next time!I believe he knew it was time to stop this horrible man,and sometimes we as citizens aren’t told all the story, for national security. This was one of those times.I watch the Iraq people cheering.OMGGG they will soon be free of this beast!I’m proud to be an American, and proud to be from the small state of WV.Jessica, you are a brave, wonderful woman!!I’m so happy your parents are on there way to Germany to see you!!!God Bless all of our Military!I hope all of you will take the time to send packages, and letters to our troops.Help a Military Spouse that has a husband or wife over seas,or just say a prayer for them,if you can’t help any other way.I will also pray for the people who posted mean things at this site.Jessica my houghts and prayers are with you,as you recouperate.I can’t wait to come visit you when you get home.In God’s Speed, bring you home to WV.Sue Ellen soon.Sue Ellen

How about the US fighting for the Iraqi citizens to free them of Torture and Murder from Hussein! That’s what this is about.
And PFC Lori Piestawa did not have to and it’s unfortunate she was killed, but you must respect her decision about her career.

I think Izeldeen’s question was inappropriate. The question itself has the effect of actualizing the thing he asks about, mostly in the mind of the inquirer, but also to his audience. As such, it’s a rather unfair and mean-spirited rumor to suggest.
Perhaps there’s a better context for such things to be discussed – like between a patient and her doctors. I’m sure our guesses about these things are quite inappropriate.

READ IZELDEEN’S message above! Believe what he says – no one knows better than those who have suffered. The Iraqis who fight against the coalition do it because they fear for their lives if they don’t. All of them -even the Republican Guard – are good people and would work with the liberating armies and help rebuild Iraq if they felt they could trust the US to finish the job and not leave Hussein in power. What an amazing person Jessica Lynch is! She should sign for a movie deal she’s going to be offered! Go for it! Just stay REAL about it all and don’t let them call it “Rambette” or you may have to knee them in the groin!
Jk
My apologies. My last comment was in reference to something that “Booby” had written.

You know it really amazes me how some people in this country can act when they bring home one of their own fighting, arguing, bickering but i guess it takes all kinds don’t it.I’m extremely sorry that the others was not saved but i am thankful one was brought home alive.I’m very proud of jesse and proud to be from Wv and i’m damned proud to be an american.

I am so happy that Jesica Lynch was rescued from the horrific trauma she was obviously suffering as a POW. I was deeply touched by the loss of Lori Ann Piestewa, the first woman to die in this unfortunate war who was also an indigenous American from the Hopi people. In the face of such triumph and such grief involving the women of war, I want to know: WHERE IS SPEC. SHOSHAWANA JOHNSON???
SPECIAL FORCES NEED TO FIND HER AND HER FELLOW POWS AND BRING THEM HOME, PARTICULARLY SINCE THE RED CROSS HAS NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO ACCOUNT FOR THEM OR THEIR CONDITION!!
Greg
Jesse,
I thank God you survived your terrible ordeal. I’ve been praying for you since I first heard of you being MIA. Being the son of a former POW I can relate to your situation and hope the best for you. I built a tribute website to you, it was sort of threapy for me to do. You have been on my mind so much and I am so proud of you. I thank you and love you for your service to our country. I appreciate all servicemen for the sacrifices they make to protect our way of life. You are God’s gift to us all.
GregL
Geez! I am the poster of the previous message. I just read some of the earlier messages and see there is another ‘Greg’. I want to make a distinction that I am NOT that Greg. I have more respect for Jessica than that.
steve
Hey I thought the owner of this site would ban someone using vulgar language! Why is’t he doing anything, and what’s up with this loser on here? Try looking into his ISP.
This person is clearly disturbed and cannot write one intelligent word. This must be a bitter little boy posting all of this. My guess is he’s about 10 years old. This can’t be an adult posting such immature, vulgar words.
But Mr. F*ck F*ck. should get a life. That name does suit you.
And some info for your injured brain: THEY ARE HEROES FROM THIS WAR.
So when you get off your drugs and get off the street, get some help! You’ll need it. But someone should put you out of your misery little *BOY*.
Richard
I agree Steve. And I agre that that first Greg who can only say that Jessica is hot must also be a kid who’s expierencing his first ‘boner’. Seems all the blood his rushing from his brain to his little pecker and he can’t think in a humane way.
John Cole
Sorry guys- Musta missed some of the trolls when they made comments- I have cleaned up the section now.
James
It makes me proud to know that our soldiers have fought and died for the rights for some of these IDIOTS on this board to have the right to say some of the SHIT they are saying….very proud…(that’s sarcasm for you IDIOTS…look it up)
Sam
Than God Jessica is back, and I pray for the others to return safe…. HOWEVER.. I really wish that the world most powerful nation didn’t have to send women into harms way… it seems uncivilized.
God bless the troops.
JK
Actually, Sam, it seems rather paternalistic of you to make such a comment, especially in light of the voluntary contributions that Lynch and others have just made. Women have fought for years – and continue to fight – to be treated as equals in our society. The fact that they’ve had to fight for equality may seem uncivilized within the context of the world’s most powerful nation. Perhaps in that light we can view their contributions as being heroic.

I suppose that wasn’t worth repeating, but then the software seems to kick out a false error note when we post messages from time to time.
Good Ol Greg
That was the stupidest post I’ve ever read.
The most powerful nation in the world shouldn’t send women into harms way?!?
Did you and your dishwashing mother come here from the 1200’s?
Of course we shouldn’t send women into harms way, that, my friends, is a mans job, because we all know, that we can afford to lose men more than we can afford to lose women. I mean, jesus christ, if there were no women left to run the country, WHO WOULD?
Women are a precious resource, they should be sheltered in our closets, and only let out to use skin softening dish detergent to clean our cleanest of dishes, because, like any good china, you keep it in a china hutch and only use it on special occasions.
you putz
You and your meathead friends should go back to the frat party.

Careful using sarcasm with some of these idiots…

Where is Spec. Shoshawana Johnson?? Please pray for her safe return, and the return of her fellow POWs.

Translation of the above:
“I’m unbelievably frustrated with myself and with life in general, so I’m indescriminately lashing out at people I don’t know or care about. I really need help, yes, with grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, but mostly with my lack of self-esteem and compassion for other people.

I guess that was intended for one of the more vulgar postings. Thankfully it was removed.

I read the news this morning and was happy to hear that another 7 American POW’s have been found/released.
To be honest I’m not all that concerned at what happened just glad to see that that are safe and in relatively good health considering what may of happened to them.
As for the idiots (for idiot substitute it for your favourite bad language insult) that come onto the boards and have the gall to insult the forces that are out in the gulf… so many opinions yet lacking in any moral fibre to do what they do.
I am proud of what our troops have done to assist the US led forces, and am proud of our brave American Cousins.
For doing what they have done to serve their country and to liberate Iraq, they are hero’s, not just doing a job, but doind a hard job in trying and dangerous circumstances and in my eyes that makes them hero’s.
Sam
Thank God for their safe return but it is still sad that a woman and mother of two had to die because the commanders of this otherwise very successful war neglected to have any kind of armor or infantry escort for the 507th… Leaving two kids behind and no father (that we are aware of) is nothing to be happy for and certainly not my idea of a great victory for women’s causes. Combat is a hardly suitable for men, let alone single mothers with two small kids.
Sorry if that offends the feminists in the audience.
Finally, the person calling themselves TooManyIdiotsHere above needs to get some context to this war and these people. Very rarely in the past (John McCain being a rare example) were any POW’s treated as hero’s. Certainly the 90,000+ Men who were taken by the Japanese and made to do the Battan March weren’t received as hero’s, nor were the 91,000 Germans who were captured at Stalingrad (5000 of which came home) ever called Hero’s. The Soviet’s went has far as reserve the title of “Hero of the Soviet Union” only to their most accomplished soldiers and generals… We in the US have the Congressional Medal, the Brits the Victoria Cross… these are awards given to Hero’s 90% of which are given posthumously… and always in the case where the Soldier/Pilot/Sailor does something totally above and beyond the call of duty and endangers his life to a degree far greater than can ever be expected. There has to be a citation, and there has to be a congressional appointment.
So, lets not toss the word Hero around too lightly. The men and women in Iraq are Soldiers doing their Duty, a duty many others have done before them, and they deserve respect. But Hero’s are not made by virtue of being captured after making a wrong turn. Otherwise the 4 Marines who died in that Abrams that fell off the bridge North of Basara would also be Hero’s and that is not the case, at least no in the media that I see on TV.
Finally, lets not forget that Iraq is not a good example of a tough enemy. Their divisions mostly stood down, or disbanded, and the only fighting was unorganized and scattered.
Had this been a war with China (God forbid), It may have made Stalingrad or Verdun seem like small field exercises.
Clint
Sam,
Having been former Special Ops, I appreciate your points. I know some here will jump on you, but those are the same ones who’ve never stepped into a pair of military boots, nor read any military history. To them war is a show on CNN.
Mark
I thought this was an interesting little tidbit:
“I am sure that all of you heard about the sandstorm in Iraq recently (the worst in 100 years some say) and the drenching rain that followed the next day.
“Our troops were bogged down and couldn’t move effectively. The media was already wondering if the troops were in a “quagmire” and dire predictions of gloom and doom came from the media.
“What they didn’t report was that yesterday, after the weather had cleared, the Marine group that was mired the worst looked out at the plain they were just about to cross.
“What did they see?
“Hundreds if not thousands of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines had been uncovered by the wind and then washed off by the rain. If they had proceeded as planned, many lives would have undoubtedly been lost. As it was, they simply drove around them and let the demolition teams destroy them. Thank you, God, for protecting our young men and women!”
On Sam’s comments, I’d agree that the media uses the term “hero” quite loosely. I don’t see, though, that a male soldier (and father) losing his life is any more or less tragic than a female soldier (and mother) losing hers. Why the sexism?
Asquith
Well, as a Brit may I say that Jessica Lynch is a heroine.
Icons are symbolic in many ways, because we humans find it difficult to empathise with 1,000’s, we focus on a symbolic figure. That figure is Jessica Lynch. She is, refreshingly, not a gung-ho killing machine, but an ordinary human.
To paraphrase Gandalf from LOTR: “it came to you…and that is an encouraging thought”.
Hero’s reflect the world and people around them, they are not chosen by commitee.

Mark,
If my comments are sexist, then so be it… If you cannot understand the difference, then you are never likely to agree with my logic.
Good day….
J
is it true jessica is going to be in playboy
Mark
Sam: It’s not a question of understanding the difference between men and women, it’s a matter of disagreeing with your “logic,” which apparently values one human life more than another.
J: I doubt it, though it’s interesting that you’d like to start such a rumor.
Sam
Sorry Mark… not my intent, all human life, from inception to death is valuable to me.
j
an mark what the hell is your problem i was just asking
Dissapointed
My how we’ve de-evolved as a species. Petty sqaubbles over grammer and spelling, name calling, backstabbing and bravado. This is truly a sad day for the human race. Can we not find another way to show support for out troops than fight? Does anyone else see the irony in this. My name is Staff Sgt. Joe Barker and I just returned from a deployment to Hungary in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. No, I did not go to Iraq or Kuwait. I had the unfortunate duty of training Iraqi Exiles in Civil Affairs type duties. Yes, I would much rather have been with my old unit, the 3rd ID and been in the thick of it. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Now I try and support those who are there in any way I can. How about instead of squabbling over issues that aren’t going to help our troops, we send a letter or a care package addressed to a U.S. soldier, sailor or airman?

I was parousing through the comments here and I could not help but wonder if this is supposed to be a page for Jessica Lynch. I see stuff like Bush is Hitler and a lot of racism. Don’t get me wrong but I’m pretty sure neither of these topics have a lick to do with Jessica Lynch. Nekron 99 said something to the effect that no one else knows as much as Americans and that we are in charge of the world. Apparently, he is not, nor ever been, in the military. It is beliefs like those that we, the military, are trying to fight against. No one knows more than anyone else. We may know different things but no one knows more than anyone else. Also, your statement about the French was out of place. To make such bigotted remarks is exactly what the world does not need right now. To end, I am extremely grateful that Jessica Lynch is home and doing ok. I just returned from Iraq and my loving wife is still over there. However, before anyone goes and tries to make a national hero out of this girl they need to stop and realize that some things are not always as they seem. All of the media who want to talk up the girl and her heroism need to think about the future ramifications it will have on this girl. From now until the day she dies and even after she will not be known as Jessica Lynch, the girl who went to war with her country and later went on to have a family and accomplish other things, but she will be known as the girl who was captured and tortured by the Iraqi army. No one but her knows everything they did to her and I am more than sure that some of those things if not all are memories she may not want brought back up every day of her life. You want t o make a hero of this girl and wish her well, then let her live her life. Thank you for your time.
Bring it
glad to see her safe but there are no heroes in war. i know i was there. chew on this. the only way the SF found her was thru info from iraqis. how did the iraqis find the SF? jessica told the iraqis where the army was. that is a crime. she put other soldiers’ lives in danger. after she told them where to find the army, roughly 1000 armed vehicles rolled into a city preparing to wipe out the US army. i personally lost 3 friends because jessica lynch told someone where the army was so that she could be rescued. 1 life was saved at the expense of 3. let’s do the math there people. i am glad she is safe. i miss my friends. they died doing their jobs. i don’t hate jessica for that. but there are no heroes in war.
Dave
Wow that Jessica is a little honey! I would love to see her in Playboy!!! I wonder if she shaves her beaver.
Jorge
Giving her the Bronze star disgraces every one else who has ever received the Bronze star in combat.
Getting lost in a supply convoy would have gotten her shot upon her release by the enemy had she been in Soviet Army of WWII… let alone a medal!
It’s amazing how we’ve degraded the whole idea of what a war hero is just to suit the feminists of the world…

These remarks are all the truth.
By the way, anyone can say me what the diference between a Corporal and a Specialist in the US Army?
One Private First Class when it’s promoted it’s became a Specialist or a Corporal?
Tina
Dino Boy… I think I under stand what you are asking. You are a PFC and that is an E-3. You next go to E-4 which is a SPC or a CPL. They are both E-4’s but the CPL holds a NCO position. They will give that to you some times if you are promotible. That means you have been to PLDC (Primary Leadership & Developement Class) or you have been to the promotion board. The pay is the same but the rank looks diffrent.
Rah Digga
you fuckin yanks are all a bunch of retards. Lynch is a fucktard, your country is run by fucktards, and anyone that believes in what you are doing can go suck a dick. You’re a worthless people. It’s a good thing canada didn’t help, because you’d just bomb some more of their soldiers, you stupid american fucks.
Dino Boy
Tina, very thanks by your help. And i sorry for my bad english. I think that it’s a exclusive US military characteristic. Because in the US Army, Fire Teams are lead by sargeants. And in another countries that it’s a role to corporals.
Best regards.

Bring it on!! First of all the oraqi citizen did not go up to the Army and tell them where jessica was it was the marines. Second of the iraqi citizen went up to a marine checkpoint to tell them where she was so it is not like they were hiding from the enemy. Third of all i highly doubt pfc.lynch knew where all the army units were located and i highly doubt you are in the army.
