The world’s first permanent war crimes court swore in its first 18 judges Tuesday to try the 21st century’s worst crimes in a move hailed as the biggest legal milestone since Hitler’s henchmen were tried at Nuremberg.
Amid pomp and ceremony, the judges at the International Criminal Court, or ICC, 11 men and seven women, were sworn in to try people accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
Insert your own snarky joke. Who are they going to try? Mugabe? Doubt it, too cozy with the French. What about Hussein? Woops- too cozy with the French.
I know- Sharon, Netanyahu, and Bush.

How about Chirac or Villepin ?? They look prime candidates to MB.

I’m sure they’ll do a lot to punish and deter war crimes and whatnot, if the UN tribunals that were its predecessors are any gauge. I mean, if abetting genocide gets you ten to twenty years with time served (http://www.upi.com/view.cfm?StoryID=20030219-053838-8059r), just think how tough they’ll be on *real* crimes. Like being Israeli.

My guess is General Franks. Snappy uniform. Obviously targeting all the human shields and children and whatnot. The conversation between the hapless ICC process server and a few US Army armored divisions would be funny though.
