Tipper Gore will not run
Tipper Gore will not run for the Senate, it is being reported.
Am I the only one who thinks that the fact that the Democrat establishment thought that she was a good candidate is the clearest indication of the intellectual bankruptcy within the Democrat party. I mean, this is it? Tipper Gore for Senate, Marion Barry for D.C. mayor? What the hell…. Anyone know what Roger Clinton is doing? Maybe he should run for the house.
It gets worse and worse for the party of the donkey.
Noted scientist and military analyst
Noted scientist and military analyst Thomas Friedman gives his thoughts on National Missile Defense:
Because of Sept. 11, he has argued, we need even deeper tax cuts for the wealthy, even more money for a pie-in-the-sky missile defense that would have been no use on Sept. 11, an even bigger defense budget and even more drilling for oil in wilderness areas.
Oh.. That is right. He is neither a scientist or a military analyst. He is just a hack columnist with an agenda who happens to write for the NY Times. His latest great feat was to be bamboozled by some sweet talk from the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. That excerpt came from today’s 10 paragraph back-handed compliment/lecture to Bush.
I really do not understand what happens to these columnists. Friedman wrote a few really astute columns after 9/11, and now he has just turned out consistent rubbish as of late.
Y. Arafat, terrorist: Palestinians say
Palestinians say that Yasir Arafat, their leader, has issued no order in recent days to stop the terror attacks and probably could not enforce one in any case. Numerous Palestinians, in interviews today, showed no remorse for the Israelis injured and killed in today’s attacks. The opposite, in fact.
Which is what I have been saying all along. Arafat either can not or will not stop the violence. Put a bullet in him.
This suggests that, even if General Zinni succeeds in bringing about a cease-fire among the Israeli and Palestinian leaders, Mr. Arafat will have a difficult time bringing along the rank and file even among his own supporters. Numerous other Palestinians, in Islamic Jihad, Hamas and other militant movements, hold no allegiance to Mr. Arafat and his agreements.
Today’s attack, “boosted the morale of our people,” said Iyhab, a Palestinian gunmen who declined to give his full name, echoing the sentiments of numerous people interviewed here this afternoon. He was referring to the gunman who opened fire in the central Israeli town of Kfar Saba this afternoon, killing a schoolgirl.
Which also proves what I have been saying all along. They (the Palestinans and their supporters) will not stop until every Jew is dead and Israel does not exist.
Is this really so hard for people to understand? I agree the Jewish settlerments must stop, but is it not now crystal clear to everyone what is going on in the region? Bush better not go wobbly on Israel, and someone please muzzle Colin Powell.

Cubs Win! Cubs Win! The
Cubs Win! Cubs Win!
The Cubs beat the White Sox today 3-0, all the while sporting snazzy looking green hats to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Although I am a Pirates fan, I have a soft spot for the Cubs, and anyone who has been to Wrigley just once will fall in love with it. I watched it on WGN while chomping on a big bowl of corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. I am not Irish, but I love celebrating things like this- special foods on special days. It is fun, and it keeps life interesting.
BTW- Cactus and Grapefruit League Baseball, March rains, St. Patrick’s Day- it is spring, folks, whether you are ready for it or not.
