New Casualty Numbers?
The Oxford Research Group has a briefing paper titled ‘A Never-Ending War? Consequences of September 11.’ In this briefing, we learn that one of the problems following 9/11 is the assertion that:
More innocent lives may have been lost in Afghanistan than on September 11 (between 2-8,000 deaths).
So much for Herold’s statistics. Now there may be 8,000 civilian casualties (I am assuming that is what an innocent life is).
The whole thing is just a disgusting rehash of all the same bizarre complaints from the root cause anti-war crowd.
“Little attempt made to understand the motivations for the September 11 attacks, or to see them as part of a longer-term strategy”.
Yawn.

I found this site in a “war casualty numbers” search. I am numbly sitting here after considering ALL the wartime casualties in the 20th century alone. After just beginning to grasp the astronomical number of dead, I dont even want to consider the amount of families and loved ones affected. With that total war casualty rate in mind while considering the worldwide population boom, this current “skirmish” we’re having isnt going to be a dent in historical comparisons. Humans are civilized apes, but we still possess animal traits. Our struggle for freedom, land, power, money, or “religious” beliefs is going to plague mankind for eternity. Funny how nothing has been used as an excuse for killing more people in history than “God”, or whatever name you prefer to use. I can understand being zealous in your trying to understand the unknown, but can you please come up with a less destructive reason? Thank you
Unless you’re part of the 1% of the population in charge, then I say “You’re Welcome”.
