Day two of the lobbying hijinks:
Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney, who has cast himself as a Washington outsider and blasted his opponents’ ties to lobbyists, has more than a dozen federally registered lobbyists raising money for him and several others advising his campaign, records show.
At a Nashua event the day before the New Hampshire primary, Romney said, “I don’t have years and years of favors to repay, lobbyists who have raised all sorts of money for me.”
But at least 13 lobbyists work as so-called bundlers – those responsible for prodding deep-pocketed donors and generating vast sums of money for the candidate – according to records compiled by nonprofit Washington watchdog Public Citizen.
But did they sit in on senior strategy meetings?
Seriously, if people are looking for Bush’s heir, this guy is it. Another blue-blood with a penchants for making shit up and saying whatever, Mitt is completely beholden to corporate interests, surrounded by sycophants who get upset if you dare question him, attractive enough that he can get the golf reclublican vote, enthusiastic about torture yet completely willing to act religious when the scenario calls for it- the guy is a Bush clone. No wonder Hugh Hewitt has such a man-crush- the past 8 years have been so good, and he sees eight more just like it with Multiple Choice Mitt. hell, might as well ask what Dick is up to the next 8 years.

Satan is the father of all liars.
I guess that’s why they call him “Dick” Cheney
Gold Star for Robot Boy
But this isn’t important, because that AP reporter was sitting on the floor.
ON THE FLOOR!

I expect that during the Presidential debates, the Democratic candidate will use the line, “You sound just like George W. Bush,” to whoever the Republican candidate is. It’s tough to counter, especially for someone like Mitt.
Incertus (Brian)
“Catch him on the right day and he’s Che freaking Guevara.”–from the Michigan Democrats for Mitt video.

John Cole: “… hell, might as well ask what Dick is up to the next 8 years.”
I heard Dick was gonna be Giuliani’s VP for the next 8 years.
Rex
When so many of the establishment mouthpieces backed this guy at the same time, seemingly without any commensurate reasoning, it was obvious that Mitt was the Manchurian 2.0.

What’s really sad is that the Chimpy Administration has so lowered expectations that the press doesn’t even react to bald-faced lies or admissions of dishonesty.
Examples: Tony Fratto says the WH isn’t missing any emails, Chimpy admits he lied about firing Rumsfeld.
We expect politicians to “spin” the truth, but once upon a time outright lying was considered beyond the pale.
Remember when the press got the collective vapours over “I did not have sex with that woman?”

You won’t hear that statement if a Republican SoCon is elected. It would be “I did not have sex with that man. Chad just slipped and fell on top of me. I swear to Jesus.”
Let’s see, who comes in at #1 for lobbyist bundlers. Why, according to Public Citizen, that would be Mr. Straight-Talk Reformer Torture-Capitulist McCain at 32. Rudy following his butt closely at 29. Ron Paul at 0.

Don’t worry. Those rules will come back as soon as we have a Dem president again.
Robert Johnston
I really don’t want to ever hear Hillary Clinton say “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” on national television. No good can come from that.
Davis
Piling on Mitt is nice and all, but I want to see all the others get the same treatment, and they’re not. McCain said the other day that no tax increase in history has raised revenues. In History! Most reporters can remember 1992, can’t they? Oh, and while in the Middle East, Bush said (again!) that they had to invade Iraq because Saddam kicked the inspectors out.

Shouldn’t they be called “fluffers” or something????
Just wonderin’.

Dems and Repubs are all a bunch of lying goons controlled by big business. They can’t wait to get their paws into the newly powerfluffed office of dictator which bush and his goons stacked up against the peoples wills and nobody stepped up to the plate to impeach bush, cheney, rice and the rest of the creeps because doing so would bring the executive branch back to right size with the congress and judiciary. romney touts his massachusetts health care success (a great bag of gas) a mandatory shakedown of massachusetts citizens extorting a $246 or more a month to fill the pockets of the big insurance companies so they can fill his campaign coffers. yet more neocon pilfering of the american people
