You Know the Drill

Goal Thermometer

Consider this an open thread. Currently I am planning on taking a cocktail of vodka, dramamine, and no-doz to make it through McCain’s speech.

I think we may have the server issues fixed by the end of the day, btw.

*** Update ***

LOL. Posted a video instead of the ActBlue thing. ActBlue link should be up now.

You may wish to move any objects that could possibly be thrown through a television screen to a less accessable location.

You should put the donation bar thingamajig back up. These past couple weeks motivated me to give my first twenty. And I’m stingy and poor.

THAT’S NOT CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN

Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland used the racially-tinged term “uppity” to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Thursday.

Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.

“Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they’re a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they’re uppity,” Westmoreland said.

Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”

I read they are re-doing the stage so that it has a Town Hall feel… how cozy . Should we count the cheesy smiles that follow each head swivel?

Apparently Obama has been raking in the bucks from the Palin speech. Over $8,000,000 overnight.

Oh, and Woo-hoo on the server! :)

I’m assuming that Larry Kudlow is currently on the television talking about how the market today is a reaction to the Republican VP Nominee?

    Amirite?

    Huh.

There is more truth on the right than there is on the left. You can tell this by the controls on thought that can be imposed by the wide range of people operating blogs. The right embraces controversy. The left silences it.

BOB, what controls on thought are you talking about? Is there any defense? Will a tinfoil hat help?

P.S. Also, what controversy are you talking about?

Still smarting over being banned from Political Animal, Bob? I can assure you it wasn’t because Steve was “silencing” controversy.

He did it because you’re an annoying asshole.

Just donated $25 plus a $5 tip to act blue.

Oh, and in regard to your take on the Palin speech, do you know that Blitzer thinks she hit it out of the park? Too bad it went foul.

I just broke my Obama donating cherry, thanks to Frau Palin….which is great news for McCain.

If the earth is flat or round. Teach the controversy!

Here’s a thought – In 2000, George W. Bush was the governor of a border state facing a two-term incumbent. Did the Republicans back then EVER try to claim that Bush had “foreign policy experience” simply because he had been governor of Texas ? I’d bet the answer is “No, none of them said such a silly thing.”

I don’t remember if they did, but the funny thing is that they would have had a better argument for it. Texas governors have to address illegal immigration and probably get to meet with government officials from Mexico now and again.

Thank you John. Things are going to get even uglier the next 60 days.

The thing is—they could have a perfectly legitimate argument about her negotiating that pipeline deal with Canada. But they actively choose the ridiculous “staring down the Russians across the Bering Strait” argument since it sounds more belligerent. It’s amazing.

Well, Sarah convinced me. I just donated on ActBlue. I don’t think I’ve ever been that angry.

A conservative friend asked me why it didn’t bother me that the Dems mocked McCain and Bush. There’s a difference. We knocked pols running/holding office. They mocked people trying to help the poor. Despicable. And they call themselves Christians.

Sorry, John. I rang the MUP register last night at bo.com.
And the night before, and last Friday after the Palin nom. It’s getting to be as bad as downloading pR0n, but in a much better cause.
