Here in Cleveland the morning news I watch had a piece on the NY Mag cover and the front page of the Cleveland Plain Dealer has a picture of it with the full story on page A4.

They really are dissecting all these polls too.

Am I the only one who thinks that Mika is, well, kind of a wimp?

Andrea, as ususal, is commenting from Tel Aviv, sticking her little knife in barack HUSSEIN obama.

The Republicans may have screwed everything up, but clearly, the Democrats are worse.

Am I the only one who thinks that Mika is, well, kind of a wimp?

No. Rachel Maddow should co-host with Joe, so when she pwns his ass, he’ll get up and walk out.

Well, well, look who’s been playing footsy with whom. What a surprise. A$$hole Press=Bush bodyguard of lies.

You mean Mrs. Greenspan, the wife of the man who got us in this economic mess in the first place.

And you wonder why they aren’t talking about how fucked up the economy is?

And I wonder why they aren’t commenting on the 12 part series in the Washington Post about a Congressman maybe/maybe not killing an intern.

    Hmmm…

Yeah. Morning Joe is fast becoming unwatchable. When Joe said this morning that Habeas Corpus was invented for American citizens I could not believe it. He also believes that in ten years the whole world will appreciate the decision to go to war in Iraq. And he can’t help but mention Reagan in every other sentence.

I am all for replacing Mika with Rachel. Something needs to be done.

I wish I had some pithy/wiseass comment. John’s “Kill me now” just about covers it.

Rachel will never last. She’s smart, intellectually honest, well prepared and well informed, and seems to have an affinity for facts. The Kewl Kidz will send her packing.

Oh. Bush Administration flunkies soliciting donations to the Bush Library in exchange for getting your name off the Homeland Security Terrorist Watch List?

    Check.

How much money does that fucker need to house a building that will contain that fucking catepillar book and all the e-mails that they’ve already destroyed?

But if ratings start to drop and salaries get cut because hocked their TVs for a few cans of Alpo:

    “ZOMG THE ECONOMY IS TERRIBLE!!”

Of course, the follow up story will be “Could the prospect of a possible Muslim president be the cause of our economic woes?”

    Bleah.

Napoleon – was that 19 “Action” News? I thought they had pretty much given the whole operation over to the Miktarian murder. Nice to see they’re branching out in the pandering, if so.

Yes, Mika is a wuss. She is supposed to be Scarborough’s friendly sidekick. Her job is to try and make him look good. It always has been. That’s a tough job, when you think about it. And, yes, she’s failing.

  14. 14

Isn’t is obvious that putting a million people on the terrorist watch list is the funtional equivalent (in terms of catching terrorists, not in terms of hassling innocents) of putting nobody on the list?

  15. 15

    harlana pepper

Oh, and let’s get rid of Joe, first. Then we’ll talk about Rachel. Anybody that thinks he’s an asset is not going to give Rachel Maddow a show and they certainly are not going to put her in a cage with Scarborough. She’d counter him with a fact or two and he’d end up nastily insulting her for being right and proceed to huff off the set like a diva.

  16. 16

    Jake

Rachel’s problem is that she’s inclined to call her fellow hosts on their bullshit. It’s highly entertaining when she does, but I doubt it’s welcomed by the muckity-mucks.

Don’t you just hate these mental recessions.

Stoopid moonbat. If we let all these 1 million off the list, they’d all fly at the exact same moment (14Aug08, duh) and crash like 1.3 million planes simultaneously into all the In ‘n Out Burgers, causing massive panic amongst the Left Coasters and stoners, probably not exclusive to each other.

We just CANNOT allow the terrorists to destroy our trans-fat fix. Therefore, I propose we put another mill on that list. All the vegetarians, I would suggest.

Your terrorist watch list in action:

“Members of Congress, nuns, war heroes and other ‘suspicious characters,’ with names like Robert Johnson and Gary Smith, have become trapped in the Kafkaesque clutches of this list, with little hope of escape,” said Caroline Fredrickson, director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office. “Congress needs to fix it, the Terrorist Screening Center needs to fix it, or the next president needs to fix it, but it has to be done soon.”

Morning Joe has become so unwatchable, I’ve had to switch back to the blowdried twits of CNN. It’s a different brand of stupid, but not quite as insulting.

You forgot the 12-part Washington Post series on “Who Killed Chandra Levy?”

Part 3 is in today’s Post.

    I wish I were kidding.

I really wish they’d cover Miss USA falling down more. I think it’s the most important story of the day.

There’s always NPR. It’s on at my house every morning; has been for years. Occasionally I even listen to what they’re saying.

No, Fox was covering the UFO sightings in Texas (near Crawford, oddly enough…or not) all morning.

    TR

    There’s always NPR.

They’ve lurched rightward lately like the AP. Eh….

  26. 26

    gbear

Agree with TR. All Things Conservative and Morning Transcription have become talking point shows for administation officials with a little bit of ‘other side’ thrown in to cover their butts. None of their hosts can interview a ‘liberal voice’ without taking a confrontational stance, but they typically treat the established insiders with reverence and respect (even as they spout utter hogwash).
NPR news died when it moved from New York to DC and everyone involved picked up a terminal case of smug.

Yeah, how bout not watching not only the program but the goddamned channel? Fuck them and their advertisers. That’s what the rest of you should be doing.

Perfect solution to the media insanity:

Make all media outlets – newspapers, radio, tv, internet – nonprofit.

Get rid of the profit margin. Get rid of the corporate overlords. Get rid of the seven-figure salaries these elitist curd-for-brains on the morning talk shows rely on and have them live on $50k per year and fly in coach like the rest of us.

Ooh, here’s a good one. A grand jury in the Bronx wants to supoena the identities of anonymous commenters on a blog because, you know, they said mean things about politicians.

Did you expect hard hitting journalism from Joe fucking Scarborough and Mrs. Greenspan? I’m happy to say I have no clue who Mike Barnicle is.
