I think what I’ll do is scout some places out tonight and tomorrow morning and then post the place tomorrow morning. Let’s tentatively set the time for 8 pm.
Hope to you DCers at the meet-up tomorrow.
Update: I’ll tweet it too @DougJBalloon is my handle.
Update It’ll be Ventnor’s or the Black Squirrell

Feeling a bit jealous because I can’t ever get to a meet-up! I hope you all have a great time!
Bob2
Invite Megan. I hear she has a sense of humor on Twitter.
Mike E
I’ll be wearing my Right2Rise tee.
Elizabelle
Metrorail accessible, please (although I’m sure that’s on DougJ’s list). A walk is fine.
DougJ: have you been checking out the U Street NW area? I’ve not been up there for a year, but hear it’s hopping. And very metro accessible.
Mostly glad to see you again.
The GOP candidates: not so much.
John Dillinger
@Mike E: Getting into a public throw down with some Trump supporters could get the group into the national news. Though upper NW DC isn’t actually rife with them.
MattF
@John Dillinger: Nah. Too many reporters live around there. They appreciate their privacy.
dedc79
@Elizabelle: Yeah, there are a ton of great bars in the area. My favorite beer bar on U st. – The Saloon – happens to have no televisions. Not ideal for debate watching…
Shakezula
Do you have a Twitter account or something? It’s hard to catch posts here once they’re off the front page.
Infamous Heel-Filcher
For some reason FYWP won’t let me post from mobile; let’s see if desktop is any better.
I’ll try to make it; depends on how late the Nationals game goes. (In town to see family, so they get priority.)
Roger That
@dedc79: The Saloon is currently closed while they’re in West Africa building houses.

WaPost puts up some debate-watching venue suggestions (with vague suggestion to get a life, in the lede: “We know this is Washington, the wonkiest town in America. But there are 460 days until the presidential election.”):
Elizabelle
Comment in moderation; put up WaPost link on debate-watching venues: might have had a forbidden word in it.

ETA: Maybe the offending word is B I N G O
John Dillinger
@MattF: If it’s in Cleveland Park, maybe we can get David Brooks to attend.
Jeffro
Hope to catch you guys next time, especially if it’s a NoVA-area meet up.
But not if David Brooks is in attendance.
DougJ
@Elizabelle:
Thanks, I fixed it.
boatboy_srq
@John Dillinger: Wait, what? We’ve invited Brooks? Nuh-uh.
A guy
I will be there wearing the shirt that says “all live matters except the dentist who killed Cecil, the Colorado theater shooter, michael brown, Samuel Debose, the white cop killed in Memphis, Timothy mcveigh, and the unborn child sold by planned parenthood for profit even though they are non profit”

The closest Metro station is 10+ minutes brisk walk from Woodley. Just sayin’.
Note to people unfamiliar with the area – Dupont Circle may look about the same distance but it is an uphill walk.
Smedley Darlington Prunebanks (formerly Mumphrey, et al.)
So, where’s it going to be, then?
