Just in case there were any questions as to whether there are issues of racism and corruption within the Chicago police department: an image recently surfaced of two Chicago police kneeling over a black suspect wearing deer antlers like he was a fresh kill. The picture was believed to have been taken between 1993-2003. One of the cops in the picture, Jerome Finnigan, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for organizing robberies and home invasions and Timothy McDermott, the other cop, was fired last year from the force.
Finnigan told prosecutors that he and McDermott had arrested the man because he had “20 bags of weed,” but neither officer filed an arrest report for the case and they apparently let him go because he did not have a serious criminal background. The person who took the photo, which Finnigan said was a “spur of the moment” stunt,” has not been identified.
Law enforcement at its finest, folks.
