On my way to bed, but first…Time for Golden Girls. Gah, I sure hope I don’t have to wait until I’m in my 40 or 60s to get married like Dorothy did in the season finale. I guess I should probably find a boyfriend first.
Man was that an unattractive wedding dress.
Had to tell my sister on FB u dare say I’m already almost in my 40s. Today just happens to be her 26th bday. In about a month I’ll be 38, so she’s got jokes…lol.
Have a good night BJ.

As a lifelong A’s fan, I feel your pain, although in my case it is somewhat mitigated by the fact that I got to witness one of the great playoff games of all time last night. I was kind of hoping for a KC/Pittsburgh world series, because wouldn’t that just be the best? Alas.
Violet
Not been a good day. Some days you really wonder if it’s worth going on. What the fuck is the point?
Omnes Omnibus
@Violet: OTOH, there have been good days, right? Or has it all been horrible forever?
Violet
@Omnes Omnibus: At the moment I can’t remember. It all seems bad. Or if it was good, then it got bad, so the bad is just around the corner waiting to happen.
Anne Laurie
@Omnes Omnibus: Some days, the only reason I don’t give up in despair is that I won’t give my fvcking enemies the satisfaction.
Mr Stagger Lee
Say goodbye to the Bay Area World series but we still have a possibility of a (A) So Cal Word Series (B) California World Series (C) Missouri World Series or (D) Balto-DC World Series. I would love to see the Missouri one.
Omnes Omnibus
@Violet: @Anne LaurieIt is not the way I work, In my view get up and beat the bastards with sticks is my default. People don’t always tell me their real problems. If they don’t. I can’t help.

@Mr Stagger Lee: Having grown up in DC during the 60’s (Senators II: the expansion team, but still “Last in the American League”), DC-Baltimore has its appeal to me. But I’ve been in the East Bay since 1969, so I still need to recover from last night before I decide who to root for next. KC I think – at least their opening day payroll was under $100M.

@Mr Stagger Lee:
I’d like to see a Beltway World Series. (Chesapeake World Series? MarVa World Series?)
Brother Shotgun of Sweet Reason
What? We’ve given up on Pirates-Orioles already? Dammit, I want revenge for 1979, the year the O’s bats went to sleep the week that it counted.
Steeplejack
@Brother Shotgun of Sweet Reason:
Yes, we’ve given up on Pirates-anybody, since they got their asses handed to them earlier tonight by the Giants.

@Mr Stagger Lee:
If there is a Freeway Series, I am getting the hell out of Orange County for the duration.
Temporarily Max McGee (soon enough to be Andy K again)
Sorry ’bout your Buccos, John. Keep the faith, though- they’re building it steadily.
And now: Go Get ’em, Tigers!

The Pirates succumbed to a “Madison Baumgardner” silencer:-)
Hawes
And yet, Bud Selig – the man who gave us the Wiild Card Game abomination – roams America a free man.

@Hawes: I like the Wild Card which is more than I can say about the Designated Hitter.
Cermet
Still, they had a better run than the current Steelers …
