Here’s my very favorite version of Take Me Out To The Ball Game by The Skeletons from Springfield MO (does anyone remember The Morrells? Same guys). This is the only way I can sing this song now.
I’ve got a bit of nostalgia – I lived right next to Fenway for 12 years, and for the first 7 of those, really soaked up the Red Sox atmosphere. I was involved in all the 2004 games, and it was magical beyond compare.

Fuck the Sawx. Screw the Cards. Bullshit teams playing a bullshit game. Baseball ought to be grateful for cricket, since otherwise it would be the worst-sucking popular sport in the multiverse.
A new app called 2nd Vote is designed to allow conservative voters to see how companies score on five issues: gun rights, abortion, the environment, same-sex marriage and federal subsidies — though it’s even attracted some liberal fans. Giving each company a score from 1 to 10, the app rates everything from the airline industry to Internet businesses as actively liberal, passively liberal, passively conservative and actively conservative. …
In the long run, 2nd Vote plans to add more issues, more companies and add gamification features to the app that would encourage users to rack up high scores by shopping at conservative companies.
Wonderful. A new step forward for the Conservative Purity Wars: Now they’re scoring it.

@JGabriel: Please proceed, wingnuts. The Party MUST be pure!
@Yatsuno: Eventually there will be but one final Conservative, and he will be Reagan Reborn. Then the world ends in flame.

@JGabriel: there was a site called Buy Blue that was the same. Turns out that tracking corporate behavior is really difficult. I don’t expect this to last long (or if it does, to be useless parroting of standard republican talking points)
Between the freepers hating on [Kathleen] Parker, and McCain dissing [George] Will, the Republican Purity Wars continue apace.
By 2012 they will have all killed each other off in a orgy of murder, cannibalism, and purer-than-thou recrimination, until only 2 are left, Ace of Spades and Michelle Malkin, each circling the other with rocks in their hand, shouting “You’re a RINO!” “No, you are!”
One of them leans in for the attack, they pounce, and…
I may have been too optimistic on how quickly it would happen, but it’s remarkable how little has changed in the dynamic.

Tres sweet – thank you!

Is the open thread for the Sox fans and Cole’s is for the Cardinal fans.

@JPL: Apparently most of the Jucitariat is with the Cards. Turning and spitting at that.

@JGabriel: LOL. That’s awesome. I too dreamt of a Republican free 2012 – how foolish we all were in that brief window of glorious, unsullied Hope.

@efgoldman: The video was done right after Game 6 with Detroit. I read that Ozawa was in town for the first time in two years.

@efgoldman: I think Ozawa just did the video as a bit of a cameo.

@gbear: OMG, that was the theme song for a commercial and I can ony sing it that way too now!
