Nothing says fun like trying to get FMLA paperwork filed.

Thanks to whoever recommended “Terriers.” Amazing season and can’t believe FX isn’t picking that show back up. Streaming on Netflix if you haven’t seen it.
Cole, send Tunch over there to get those execs to change their minds. Cat’s paw and all that….

@Yutsano: Had no idea you were pregnant.

@BGinCHI: Blame the Dawg. :)
Actually it’s for my back surgery. 4-6 weeks of temporarily unemployed bliss. Figuring out the finances right now.
March 3rd, 2012 at 1:58 am
@Yutsano: Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Hope it’s the kind of surgery that is going to allow you to feel/move better.
See if they have that metal the Wolverine gets in the X-Men comix. That shit looks really helpful.

Tomorrow is Liverpool-Arsenal.
Where are the big mouth Arsenal fans? Randinho?
Let’s get a thread early AM so that I can drink your bitter gunner tears.

@BGinCHI: Are you going to see Graham Parker at the OTSOFM?
March 3rd, 2012 at 2:04 am
@BGinCHI: Microdiscectomy. I will be MUCH better afterwards. But not getting any replacement parts. Though that would be kinda cool.
March 3rd, 2012 at 2:07 am
Not to get all Bob Segar on you, but I just woke to the sound of thunder. Didn’t have to wonder how far off, ‘cause it was right on top of us.
Actually though, I slowly came awake just before with a shooting pain in my big toe. Change in barometric pressure? Gout? Anybody ever have this happen? Storm’s past now and I still get a twinge now and then.

At what point does Ms. Fluke have a slander case against that fat, pathetic bastard? She is not a public figure by the definition of the law.

@Jewish Steel: How did you know I love GP? Get out of my head!
I didn’t see he was playing but I’m gonna see if there are tix. You coming up? We could get a drink in Lincoln Square even if I don’t go.
Going to bed soon, so leave a reply here and I’ll check back in the AM.

@Yutsano: I’ve had two. It gets better! If you get too uncomfortable, Toradol. Insist on that shit.*

@Yutsano: Best with it, though seriously, get some bionic parts while you’re in there. At least x-ray vision or something.
March 3rd, 2012 at 2:11 am
@BGinCHI: Yes, I may. He’s playing a tiny venue outside of St Louis, so that’s a possiblity too. I’ll keep you looped!

Just got back from a Truckstop Honeymoon show. Fat titties. Got at least a half-doz earworms in my noggin. May not get to sleep unless i can clear em out. Suggys?

@Jewish Steel: Just looked it up. April 17. Will get Mrs. BG on it, since we’ll need a sitter. Think we can pull it off. Stay tuned.

@BGinCHI: I’d be happy if they replaced my eyes to give me 20/10 extrasensory spectrum vision. They won’t be anywhere near my skull though.
@Jewish Steel: They’re nipping off two right next to each other, although one is nowhere near as bad as the other. I might not be able to take the med cause I have a couple other stressors on my liver. Never hurts to ask though. :)

Yutsano, you’d be floored bud, if you knew how routine your neurosurgeons considered it. Just know that they know what they’re doing and you’ll be in the thoughts of your whole Juicer crew. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Frankly, I’ve never seen the appeal.

@Yutsano: Please don’t forget to let us know when you go to the hospital—I want to keep you in my thoughts that day.
Jewish Steel: While my neurosurgeom didn’t use that term, I think that’s how he performed the hemi-laminectomy I had some 17 years ago. From constant burning pain, I woke up from the surgery and there was NONE, No pain.

@Comrade Mary: I may have to break down and get a Netflix subscription. My parents have a decent internet connection and I’m staying with them during recovery. I might try checking in from the hospital too if Mom lets me have the laptop.
@PurpleGirl: May 16th. I’ll try to check in as much as I can beforehand. I’ll make sure wifey has digits so she can keep tabs on me.

It seems really porny and trashy for this sort of thing but I have to admit I don’t know much about what that thing is

Drop everything and watch Luther on BBC America. Idris Elba, who starred in The Wire, is the main character and it’s the most awesome police drama.
http://www.bbcamerica.com/luther/
Like so many of the BBC shows, tLuther has irregular season lengths. the firat one was like a series, but the second season had only four episodes, so it was more of a miniseries.
Highly recommend, and on pins and needles until the third series starts.

Had a decent time at the games yesterday. #4 Duluth completely shut down #1 Wisconsin. The score was 2-1 but the game was not that close. WI had only a couple of good scoring chances & looked frustrated all afternoon long.
In the nightcap #2 Minnesota dominated #3 North Dakota 6-0. ND has a couple of good lines but they never had a chance to put anything together even on the power play.
Tonight it will be MN v UMD for the championship.

House of Lies is a lot of fun. For a bit of fluff with Cheadle and Brendan Gleeson, I recommend The Guard. Not great but enjoyable IMO, and the ending makes it ripe for a sequel.
