Most sedate cat fight ever.

It’s too early to know what this means. People trying to score points off kitty pattycake make me sick.

@MikeJ: What did the audio say, I watched the clip with the audio off.
January 9th, 2011 at 5:14 pm
@schrodinger’s cat: I have no idea, I was snarking.
January 9th, 2011 at 5:16 pm
@schrodinger’s cat: You must have the audio on.
January 9th, 2011 at 5:16 pm
Mark: that was good snark.
The video is funny, thanks for posting it.

Patty cake?
I thought it was a reenactment of Henry V.
January 9th, 2011 at 5:23 pm
@PurpleGirl: It was much funnier to me with AL’s tag line. Watching it in that context had me rolling. Otherwise I thought it was kinda meh, beyond the how they taught the cats to do that.

@schrodinger’s cat:
The audio is worth it—it’s the conversation the cats are having while they’re playing pattycake.

It sounds a bit like us at times, no?

I was going to comment about how the only useful cat is one that catches rodents for a living.(*)
I decided not to, because given the nature and inclination of this blog, I’d get banned like some kind of BoB or something.
But no dog ever spent the night staying warm on the engine block of my truck, leaving one of those incredibly lovely scent bombs you get when you start the engine and turn the heat on in the morning.
Just saying.
(*)ETA: Wish my next-door-neighbor’s cat wasn’t so fat and lazy. Maybe it could rid me of my chipmunk plague. THEY’RE not so damned cute, either.

The internet was invented for cats. Hilarious.
Here’s an another classic from the dawn of DIY video. It will always be teh awesome.

My kitty says, “Mer?”
January 9th, 2011 at 5:43 pm
@Mnemosyne: I heard it, too funny for words! Usually if my kittehs are doing this, they are fighting and making blood curdling noises to go with it.
January 9th, 2011 at 5:43 pm
You’ve prolly all seen this, but it demands to be posted here:
Talking Cats Translation.

Kittehs to teh rescue. Hilarious, and quite goofy even w/o the dialogue. What katz do dis?
January 9th, 2011 at 6:03 pm
Heh. So cute. I agree that Anne Laurie’s comments make it funnier.
@Cat Lady: I was expecting cats, and you give me BSB? Argh. My pristine ears.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:11 pm
Win! Especially with your editorial comment, AL.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:31 pm
@asiangrrlMN:
Weirdly, I think that BSB song is genius, and the Chinese translation of American emo is so great. YMMV.
BTW, I saw Vienna Teng last night. Yutsano warned me you won’t share her with me cuz I want to gay marry her.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:35 pm
Awesome!
January 9th, 2011 at 7:03 pm
I love cats. They’re so incomprehensible.
Thanks.
January 9th, 2011 at 8:01 pm
I guess having cats who do “rock, paper, scissors” before every meal makes “pattycake” easy to believe. I think cats were humans before they were cats. They came back as cats and still know all the silly games.

I’d seen this without the overdub (in fact, I showed it in class to a bunch of college students), but it’s even better now. So I can show it again!

Having observed Palin over 2 years, this is offered as an observation, though not as a diagnosis. She has the major characteristics of a sociopath—first and foremost is playing the victim. Her inability to accept blame; gas lighting (engineering the discrediting or firing of those who do not agree with her or cross her); lying; feeling she is deserving of special favors; that rules are for others, but not for her; and using others, including family, as tools. These major characteristics are listed in “the sociopath next door: The Ruthless Versus the Rest of Us,” by Martha Stoudt, Ph.D., 2005, Crown Publishing (hard cover); Broadway Books, 2006 (paperback).
Sociopaths have no conscience, they do not see how their actions affect others. Sociopaths have no insight into their behaviour. It was amusing, but now it is tragic. Why do you think Palin has not grown one iota in the time she has been in the public eye? She does not have the capacity to apologize or feel remorse for her actions. It is because of this apparent mental condition. She is very dangerous. And even more dangerous because she can be manipulated by the money and power of others who may have more malevolent intentions.
