How Wrong is She?
By mistermix September 12th, 2010
McMegan is so wrong, that she’s even wrong when she links to her husband.
This is getting to be like a game of the dozens.

Sorry, but this is getting a little too close to McRidiculous’s famous pubic sector. I would touch this controversy with a ten foot pole.

Linking to her own husband? WTF? Is Andrea Mitchell going to interview Greenspan now?
I hope she gets called out on that kind of bullshit.

How did the c-l-o-w-n shoes tag not get added to this one? It’s perfect for it, IMO.

So, someone please explain again, why does this person have a job writing about economics issues?
September 12th, 2010 at 1:40 pm
@arguingwithsignposts:
And scanning comments, it seems none of her glibertarian bootlicking commenters have yet pointed out that bit of conflict-of-interest.
Sigh. Guess we’ll have to wait for Susan of Texas or FMM.
September 12th, 2010 at 1:42 pm
@Brachiator: It is fairly safe to say she would suck just as badly writing about any other issues.
September 12th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
@Brachiator:
The parasite overclass loves them some Randite knuckleheads.
September 12th, 2010 at 1:49 pm
@Brachiator: Because her job description is basically to afflict the afflicted and comfort the comfortable. And that, she does reasonably well.
It’s the only explanation that fits the facts.

The recent DeLong/Krugman smackdown was beautiful. Especially when she came into DeLong’s comment section, got all indignant, and then got smacked down again.
September 12th, 2010 at 1:56 pm
Hopefully she’ll be a guest on public radio’s MarketPlace to expound on these insights.
September 12th, 2010 at 1:58 pm
Shocking.

Doesn’t Megan personally know Ezra? Doesn’t she realize that he has a passion for this topic and has put more effort into researching this one topic alone than she has ever put into all her writings put together? He’s constantly reading reports, interviewing people, and attending seminars on the subject. Did she really think that, “cuz my hubby said so,” was going to be a convincing argument in his eyes?
September 12th, 2010 at 2:27 pm
@Nylund: I think she had a role in the Juice Box mafia—friends older sister that let you tough her boobies
September 12th, 2010 at 2:30 pm
@Walker: Yeah, that was a pretty glorious comment thread.
Between she and the teabaggers running for office who refuse to debate, I think we need a constitutional amendment that any statement in public is subject to a live defense. Hook it into Google or some such that pulls comments proportionate to how high they get ranked. A non-partisan commission would be responsible for the debate. Jon Stewart could be the first commissioner. Call it Amendment 1A – you’re free to say anything you want, but if enough people hear you, you’ll be required to defend that speech. It’s the public’s right to not be subjected to stupid.
September 12th, 2010 at 3:13 pm
@Nylund: Yes, they are all friends. Matt Yglesias, too. I’m actually amazed that Ezra called out her BS, though he goes nowhere near far enough. It’s obvious he’s afraid of hurting her fee-fees.
September 12th, 2010 at 3:15 pm
@Calvin Jones and the 13th Apostle: And I thought I had shitty friends…
September 12th, 2010 at 3:20 pm
I can’t wait for her to start publicly arguing with Ezra about this, a.k.a. doubling down on the stupid. It’s always highly entertaining when she does that.
September 12th, 2010 at 3:25 pm
Isn’t this yet another example of why legalized marriage between opposite sex columnists fails the transparency test?
Unless there is more texting than pillow talking, of course.
September 12th, 2010 at 3:55 pm
@Nylund: Quoting her husband is far more research than she usually does.
September 12th, 2010 at 3:57 pm
@Calvin Jones and the 13th Apostle: This is hardly the first time Ezra called her out. Back when she wrote this long rambling piece about why she was opposed to health care, Ezra came in and basically said “Dude, this is bullshit” in the most polite way possible.
There’s been others, but that one sticks out in my mind because for some crazy-ass reason, what Megan originally wrote was apparently widely disseminated amongst the conservative blogosphere.

i have a very strict Not Even One Thin Clickthru from Me, You Lying Bastards policy for the WaPo. anyone got a sample from today’s idiocy?

There’s fail, and then there’s McFail.

OK, I’ll play:
McMegan is so wrong she makes oxymorons look oxybrilliant.
September 12th, 2010 at 8:10 pm
@calling all toasters: she’s the oxycontin for oxymorans
September 12th, 2010 at 8:57 pm
To paraphrase one of the science bloggers, McArdle is so wrong she violates the Pauli Exclusion Principle and collapses into a whole new state of wrongness.
September 12th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
She does come across as a perfect case for discussion in the Daily Show contest: Stupid or Evil?
John, she had to look up what idiot meant on Google. And she still got it wrong! Dumber than a box of rocks, I say.
No John, it’s a front. She is doing the bidding of her masters, who are carefully delegating propagandists to cover every slice of the opinion market. Pure evil!
