As Always, Follow the Money

Two interesting reads up at Crooks and Liars- who funds the tea parties, and who funds the new Comcast rightwing network?

    I thought the post at C & L on the fat quarterback for the Pennsylvania football squad was worth a link. Wish everyone could have nice Christian boys like Mr. Tebow and McCoy.

    In regard to Tea Party funding, C&L is following on a path that Rachel Maddow hit pretty hard last thursday.

    I wonder if anyone will be able to tell new rightwing network from The Onion News Network? I’m betting it will be as watchable as The News Hour (or whatever that crappy Daily Show wannabe was called).

    @gbear:

    She’s been doing it for months. At least since the bus tours started last year as was noted on various blogs. She must have full time blog readers on staff.

    The NCAA outlawed eyeblack “messages” last week.

    Please tell me this is true. I never understood what the point was in the first place.

    Something that will make Fox/Pravda look centrist? Who’ll get to use the “Fairly Unbalanced” tag line now? Maybe Lord Murdoch will get to move in the direction he’s always really wanted.

    Great, now I have to boycott Comcast? They are my only source of broadband (the best I can get on DSL with Quest is 1.5, I get over 20 with cable internet). Having a monopoly sure makes things easy for companies.

    @Nellcote:

    Unlike Mr. Tebow, who uses his mascara for messages, Mr. McCoy praises Jesus in his words and deeds. Mr. Tebow
    is able to make use of the make-up messaging because, like the fat quarterback for the Pennsylavania football squad, he moves slowly and people have time to read them.

    Fuck! They’re starting a more rightwing network?

    Notice that they’re not even claiming to be a “news” network:

    the lineup focuses on entertainment with pro-America, pro-business, pro-military sensibilities — compelling content that inspires action, invites a response, and influences the national conversation.

    Little known fact: the father of the Koch family was one of the four founders of the original John Birch party back in the 1950s. His two sons, who now run Koch Industries, fund the tea partiers and also heavily fund anti-global warming propaganda.
