(What? Too soon?)

I don’t know how the hell that guy made the last shot.
And btw, that last bucket by Georgetown was a travel. He took 4-5 steps.
The latest Bracketology has GT as a 2 seed, which if true is a joke imo. They’re good, but from #22 in the nation to a 2 seed?

What a game!
So, where will the Mountaineers end up seeded?
gopher2b - March 13, 2010 | 11:31 pm · Link
I’m sad.
gopher2b - March 13, 2010 | 11:32 pm · Link
@madmommy:
Me thinks WV earned themselves a #1 seed. GT should be a #3.
Comrade Luke - March 13, 2010 | 11:32 pm · Link
@madmommy: Probably a two seed, but there’s an outside chance at a one.
Comrade Luke - March 13, 2010 | 11:33 pm · Link
@gopher2b: The questions for me are will Kansas win, will Duke win, and what are they going to do about Syracuse.
John Cole - March 13, 2010 | 11:37 pm · Link
The officiating was HORRIBLE, btw. Felt like there were three teams on the court.
Kryptik - March 13, 2010 | 11:40 pm · Link
Georgetown deserves the #2 from how they played all tournament, no doubt. 22 in the polls, I don’t care, they made their case.
As far as WVU, I doubt they’ll get the #1 over Duke at this point…but they should easily be considered and might just miss that cut.
madmommy - March 13, 2010 | 11:41 pm · Link
@gopher2b:
I’m thinking more like a #2, which is pretty damn good. I don’t think in the top 1-5 the seedings matter so much. You’re going to get a team that you should beat without too much effort in the first round, guaranteed.
Comrade Kevin - March 13, 2010 | 11:42 pm · Link
Congratulations to the Mountaineers.
From my conference, I really hope St. Mary’s, who I normally hate, get selected for an at-large bid.
The Dangerman - March 13, 2010 | 11:45 pm · Link
Have to be a 1 through 4 to won the Pod (location). They’ll get that pod ownership.
1’s are set: Syracuse, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky. Locks.
Comrade Luke - March 13, 2010 | 11:48 pm · Link
@Kryptik: They finished 7th in the Big East yet they get a 2?
madmommy - March 13, 2010 | 11:51 pm · Link
@The Dangerman:
I’m wondering if they’ll re-think Syracuse. Losing in the semi’s of the conference tourney ain’t good.

Congrats Cole and Mountaineer fans.
I was rooting for the ‘eers because I hate Georgetown (born, raised, and still live in the ‘Cuse). WVU just earned themselves a solid #2 seed. Can’t wait until the selection show tomorrow. Hopefully ‘Cuse retains their #1 seed and plays in the Buffalo pod.

The Gophers won 4-2, to force a third game tomorrow night. There’s no way we make it to the NCAAs if we don’t win the conference tournament, so our next loss is our last. There’s not a chance in hell we make it, but I really want to beat the Fucking Sioux tomorrow.
I didn’t even realize that West Virginia and Georgetown had varsity hockey teams. Congratulations to the Mountaineers. I think you’re going to draw Bemidji State in the first round.

The only way Kansas loses is if they beat themselves. Provided they come to play in the tournament, might as well pencil in the Jayhawks as national champs.

Bob Huggins builds winning basketball programs. Of course, it’s likely no WVU men’s basketball player will ever graduate until Huggins leaves, but that only bothers namby-pamby types who think that “student-athlete” still means anything.
As for the Gophers, I have no idea where today’s game came from. 27 points better than Purdue? If that doesn’t get ‘em into the tournament, nothing will.
And as stated above, it’s all irrelevant; my sister’s alma mater, Kansas, is going to win the whole thing.

@Michael #52: Well, I have only contempt for both Thomases—Clarence for his judicial opinions and Virginia for her political views—but honestly, I don’t have a problem with her occupying her time in setting up Tea Parties if she wants to. Now if a TP-related case came before the Supremes, and Thomas failed to recuse himself, that I’d have a problem with.

The only good team in the Pac-10 this year is the Stanford women. The Pac-10 may get two teams into the men’s tournament by virtue of Cal’s strength of schedule (although the Bears lost most of the games that give them that high SOS). But San Diego State’s win over UNLV means the Mountain West probably gets FOUR.
Nice win for WVU, but if we win the ACC Tournament we get the fourth number one seed – and most likely get the Salt Lake City regional and a relatively easy route to the Final Four. And all you Dook haters can just suck on it.
Waiting to hear the woofing from DougJ when Upstate New York’s three teams in the tournament (Cuse, Cornell, and Siena) all win their first-round games.
And speaking of bad calls, the highlight of the day – that ridiculous dunk by the Vermont guy – should have been an offensive foul. He cleared out with his off arm.
